408 with tubonetics 94mm inducer
94mm inducer; 7/16" quill
what do you guys think about the thumper series turbonetics has?
how would this turbo do on the street? what do you think it would hit full boost at?
how much boost would i have to run to hit 1000rwhp on race gas?
and how much boost could i run on 93?
im looking for a turbo that will boost no later than 3000ish...
what approximate power would this put to the wheels with a nice set of all pros and a decent cam (duration smaller than 236).
thanks,
Tyler

The turbo will make huge power, but 3000rpms isn't going to happen, even with a 408ci. Your looking at 4800-5000rpms on the street with a full load. On the dyno add even more lag to it.

what about the 91mm inducer?
im looking to run with the dixie door slammers with two cars next year... one being a old bickle 97 TA and my 02 Z
the bickle car will have no problem
but id like to see my car hit 5.2's in the 8th...
if the only way i can do it is with a huge *** turbo that hits at 4800 then so be it.... im just worried about revving the **** outa my motor

as long as its still streetable... and i could run some one on the parkway or interstate... from a 65-75 pull im ok with it... i just dont want it to take a looooong time before it starts whippin ***
i also dont mind spraying a 75 shot to help it off the line...
im just wanting to build one of the badest beasts around (note i said one of the badest... not THE badest... )
this will be with a th350... im looking into gear vendors over drive stuff also... it looks neat
thanks,
Tyler

What do you plan to do about headers? Might possibly reconsider the TH350, and think about stepping up to a Th400 for those power levels. A 350 can be built to take that kind of abuse, but you will have more into it.

ty, not to sound like an *** but you need to start off with quite a bit less of a goal. 5.2's in the 1/8 and drive it on the street...freeway pulls....this ain't fast and the furious..this is the real world....any idea what goes into a car that runs 5.2's...that would be 135-140mph in the 1/8th.
I see so many of these posts on here, it is pitiful.
Go to the dragstrip and see what setups are on cars in that range...you won't see those cars on the freeway...racing supras!
I know, I drive a 65 barracuda that pulls high 5.teens at 136mph and 1.15 60's. My other ride, a 72 barracuda is a lot more streetable with twin 61mm 408. Been 6.6's at 106 on old setup but will be estatic for some 6.2-6.3's at 112-113 on pump gas.
Oh yea, it still won't be able to hit full boost by 3000 rpm.....probably need 528 big-block for that

Yeah, I mean is this supposed to be some super freak race car that you plan on going to run PGD or Drag week with? There's no real way you should need a compresor that large unless you're trying to do what I just mentioned. Hell a 370 with a 76 or an 88 on 93 and meth will get you close to the 1000 whp mark, especially with a properly built t56, which would be better if you're running against supras. Even if you wanna do the 408, you'll probably see great results, quicker spool, and be way more streetable and efficent and run inside a better PR. I don't know, that's just my $.02 but I too have crazy visions for the future, just not this crazy or this quick to build. GL man.

i believe i know how fast a 5.2 is and i was just asking about a turbo setup and how large of one i would have to have.... and wondering if it would be remotely streetable for a friday-sunday driver....
please dont group me with the fast and furious bozos... i have car knowledge just not so much about FI

I've never been in a turbo car so i have no idea how they act... if they act like a normal (almost factory) car until they hit boost then i have no problem using a 91mm turbo... id like to see close to 1200 rwhp on race gas. i believe with a proper chasis and around a 3200lb race weight i would get close to 5.2's.

You say you didn't want to buzz the motor but for 1200rwhp that just ain't going to happen....it better be bullit-proof.
236 duration....5.20's at 3200lbs...a no go
3000rpm full boost with a 94mm....the 94mm inducer ain't the problem....it is the 5 " diameter turbine wheel.
My earlier statements were not really directed to you, but in general, Unless you are paying someone that is very knowldegble in turbo setups to give you a car that meets your goals( $25,000) may get you there (and be safe about it), then IMO you should start small and learn the basics of turbocharging.....
I probably see 2 to 3 posts a week of people seeking 1000+ rwhp that expect it out of there daily street car that can go to the track and run 8's..... To do this YOU GOT TO KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOU ARE DOING AND BETTER HAVE A REAL DEEP POCKET!
