anyone here have 1/2" head and main studs?
anyone here have 1/2" head and main studs? just wondering what the standard ARP 7/16 studs will take compared to the 1/2 studs. i'm goin for over 1200hp on race fuel with the 6.0l iron block. also how much did this cost you at the machine shop and what machine shop did you use. what equipment should i look for to make sure its done correctly. i'm in NC/SC. thanks.
I would ask around at the big HP guys (1300+ HP) such as W2W and HPE(the only two i know of off hand). If you want a motor built to withstand the HP levels you are talking about then these should be top on your list as they both are well rounded in this territory. HPE is building my 398 6.0 block to withstand 1500 hp. The short block was priced around $4500. Long block(fully ported 6.0 heads with farrea super alloy valves), jesel rockers, and morel lifters puts me at around $7600. The heads were pretty cheap so i would factor in a bit more for those. Also i have a set of 6.0 heads for sale if you're interested.

only guy i know of with 1/2" head studs is Stealth (or something like that)
he had a 400+ iron bolock with a votech super charger.
i think he sold the car or parted it out.

Verdad Gallardo We have not tried high hp aluminum blocks yet. The LS2 block has many improvements that will help in the high hp engines. I would use a LS2 block to exceed 1500hp.
