I guess you should decide if you want more midrange power or more high end power that'll determine which cam will be better suited to your needs.

I'm running a more aggressive cam but I think it will work out nice for my needs. (224/230)

Interesting. You would think something a bit larger than stock would be better.

I'm sure I am missing something.

FWIW my 230/236/115 idled great and it did not sound that big. The current 236/246//114 is very very lopey.
Change your Cam to a much smaller one and you'll see what I mean I was extremely surprised with the result's.If I find the dyno graph I'll post what a 220 Cam can do

Here is the graph.
built 346
AFR 205 heads out of the box.
220/224 Cam
D1 at 14lbs
93 octain pump gas
Kooks headers
M6
97 Vette

The first pull of the street tune was 720hp at 6000rpm but I detuned it as far as possible for the customer to get use to it --12 degree's of timing -in this graph

You want something REEEEEAL small Ed !!

Just kiddin', I think you're on the right track with the 222/226 .563/.569 114 LSA, or maybe 115 LSA.

The extra cubes should make that cam pass smog no problem. BTW, my cam is a Cam Motion cam (still using the 222/224 .571"/.571" 114).

Call up Terry @ Cam Motion, and talk to him about it, and then have your guy order the cam.

Thats the thing with his and my motors...we have a 383 not a 346 so i would imagine if a small cam would work really well then a slightly larger cam would do the same thing in a bigger motor....
