Why Not To Get STS? I've heard a lot of praise about this kit, I've also heard a lot of the more hardcore boost guys knock it. My situation is that I want a power-adder that's semi inexpensive, and reliable. I HAVE to keep my AC, and other ammenities. I don't have the ability to have my car down for a long period. And I'd don't have the knowledge to fab up my own kit.

You will love the STS kit. I have had mine on for a year now and had no problems with it. The truck had 117k on it when I installed it and now it has 146k on it. I drag race it at the track every weekend and drive it everyday at work. The motor is bone stock and the compression check I did a few months ago showed no lose. It is a great daily drive. Thats my 2 cents.
STS has proven itself again and again both in the truck realm and GTO areas. F-bodies here have had good results. For what you want it sounds like a good choice. It's simplicity and ease of install are good for the beginning FI enthusiast, but N2O is also a good power adder too. Being different has always had its price, and the STS pays it here with the non supporters.
Your A/C should still work killer too, a must in FL
OH YEAH! Tuning make sure you get it tuned right and that'll pay big dividends in keeping your car on the road.

I have the STS kit with my a\c and a full stereo system. There is nothing like it, of course my turbo kit sounds like a jet is taking off under full throttle. Loud enough to give anyone a hard on.

I have an STS sytem on my GTO. My car is currently not in commission, but it's my own fault. I ran my car at 6psi with NO tuning for about 3 weeks... stupid on my part. I then got HPTuners and tore into and have become quite a bit more knowledgable. Bad part is I chunked a piston during those 3 weeks, and by the time I realized I was running 13.5:1 AFR, it was too late.

If you put it on a stock car and have it TUNED PROPERLY, you shouldn't have an issue. Any kit, Procharger, Vortech, PTK, etc, can blow a motor fast if it's not properly tuned.

Allot of people start out wanting a mild FI setup but this is how it sometimes goes.
1 Get a power adder run 6# boost have fun
2 Turn up boost cuz car doesnt feel fast anymore or you got smoked by a juiced neon
3 Destroy ringlands, blow up stock motor
4 Build forged shortblock
5 Hey got a forged shortblock now I can run 14#
6 Built tranny, narowed rear, mini tub, Big slicks, huge FMIC, 10 pt cage
7 Hey nice racecar
Good luck staying mild! Leave yourself room to grow.

STS kit is not for you if you want to make big power. There isn't enough velocity back there to turn a big turbo. If you want a 400+HP street car for under 5k complete then go with STS. If you ever want 500+HP don't go STS. It's up to you.

not many do this,but im doing it and its working out great at the moment.....save you money buy a forged shortblock and build the motor and get a turbo kit and make really good power,and sell the longblock in your car now,so you get back a couple $k instead of waiting til something blows up or gets worn down.
