Rear mount (STS) Dyno graph at 10 psi
The same vette put down 970rwhp 850rwtq here with a shot of NOS http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...79&forum_id=86
There are alot more and some running F1-R or F1-C's which is like running a T76 or T88 Turbo.
Go search corvetteforum.com and u will find alot more.
Also i just noticed a good thread under the FI section here. It shows the D-1SC numbers on stock bottom end. https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-induction/353811-how-much-power-procharged-stock-heads-block-ls1.html

I think these STS kits are all about giving people that aren't hardcore racers what they want... I think you wanted 500hp and a fun, fast daily driver... and you got it!
Dyno was on a manual boost controller, boost went to 11 then slowly dropped to 9 psi by 6000 rpms, hence the power drop. The bump at 3700 is where I picked up 2.5 degrees of KR. I was working on tuning the alcohol setup at the time. Mods in sig.
The car has a much improved tune from this now.
F' the haters, they don't have a clue.
Ok, people are saying those are uncorrected number but those are my SAE corrected numbers! My uncorrected numbers are enough to make a grown man cry (450 rwhp). It's just a fact of life when you live in las vegas. The da on that day would have been around 4500+ since it was a only 86 degrees in the dyno shop according to the data. It wasn't too bad of a day to dyno compared to now.
If you guys want to see the real performance of the kit here are some comparable cars from the LV-FBody club and i've posted their major mods so you can compare the car to me.
('00 SS M6): 11.730 @ 124.76 [2.04 60'] <--- ME on 13psi
('00 Z28 A4): 11.967 @ 113.35 [1.709 60'] <-- stock car with a 100 shot
('99 Z28 A4): 11.329 @ 119.61 [1.613 60'] <-- 427 LS1 (500 rwhp)
('98 SS M6): 12.783 @ 110.82 [2.071 60'] <-- heads, cam, long tubes
(00 WS6 M6): 13.009 @114.28mph [2.21 60'] <-- heads, cam, 370, 11:1 comp
('00 SS A4):13.925@100.30 : [2.170 60'] <-- lid, cut out
Most of these cars got these times when it was cooler out oct-mar. My best pass was made in JUNE at night when the temp was about 90! I'm definately not the fastest ET wise, but no one is even coming close to my MPH. Most of these guys have also done stuff like pull the sway bar, remove spare tire, skinnies, etc etc.
It simply isn't possible for you sea level guys to compare your cars or other cars to mine unless they ran at the same track on a similar day or dyno'd here. I will be trapping close to 130 once it cools off.
As for the turbo. I'm running out of turbo after 13 psi. I tried upping the boost from 13 to 15 at the track and saw no gain in mph. It also only would hit 13+ psi in 4th gear. 1st i see 9 psi, 2nd i see 11, 3rd 11-12, 4th 13-15 depending on my setting. The problem is the wastegate spring. I'm putting a stronger one in eventually.
I have a t76 i'm trying to get working on this car. I'm waiting for a new housing to come in. I also have an iron block motor i'm building for a winter time swap.

In Vegas it wouldn't.
you sir are very wrong.
A bigger trubo dosen't have to work as hard to get the same boost as a smaller turbo. The air is cooler, and power is made easier.
If a T67 makes 500 @10psi and 10psi is its limit a T88 could make 30-100 more horsepower at the same boost levels.

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
The official temp was 117, that means it was over 120 in the rest of the valley. My car felt sooooo slooooooow. I hate they way it take away all my HP!
BTW, dyno's can't correct for temperature on a forced induction car.
same as the turbo.. How do they sound at 10 lbs? Fairly loud or no? Thanks!
*edit* **** I just saw JZ's TA's post

trust me I know.
I was there last week.
I am in south Florida and we have the same problem. First you have to have a accurate weather station.
3 weeks ago we had 5 cars dynoed at my house. Everyone made more power uncorrected then they did corrected.
It was 95 degrees with 100% humity. Needless to say something was wrong in the weather station as there is no way the corrected numbers should be lower then uncorrected in those conditions.
In 3 months on the same dyno with not one change everyone will find HP.
Dont get me started on correction BS, it just pisses me off.
I was over 700 at 14psi and 16 timing. I only used a gt70 to get the job done. Im pretty sure i maxed about as far as one would want to go with the sts.

If you wish to discuss this further then pm me.
Strang, huh?
FWIW, I purchased this car off a friend with the turbo kit and the mods already installed for under 16k. I just added a few more things like an intercooler alcohol and fuel system, to get it where it is now. A turbo V8 has always been my dream car.
As i've said before, a front mounted turbo does work better, there is no argument there. But these rear mounted setup seem to be 85-90% just as good and maintain a stock engine bay.
By the way, you seem to not understand the sarcasm part...he is not sarcastic toward front mounts or S/C's, but to all the haters that say sts kits suck! Get it now??

You can't compare dyno's on FI cars when the conditions are so drastically different.
I should take a road trip to socal and see what I dyno there on 10 psi.
