Default TTi users or relocated alternator peeps

Is anyone with an alternator relocated to top passenger side using a Katech billet tensioner?? I threw a belt tonight and had to sit in the turn lane with the flashers on like a little bitch until my girl brought the tools This never happened before but I swear it will never happen again.

Will a Katech work in this setup? I have never actualy seen one and my stock tensioner just doesnt have the *** to hold my belt anymore. If I have to I will buy a new stock tensioner but me and my car have a code we live by "if you play too hard and you make it break, replace it with the best they make!" hell its only money.

On a side note some ******* in a 25th anni T/A flew by and gave me a thumbs up, no better than a damn ricer....

Funny you say that. Same thing happen to me today, I got lucky and made it home from work. I went out and bought a smaller belt hoping that it will work for me.

Well, I picked mine up off the ground and reused it but now its only a 4 rib

Mine was ok but the tensioner didn't have any effect on it. So I went with a inch smaller and now theres some tension on it. But I think the same thing is going to happen.

The way I built the alt. bracket, it uses up darned near all of the travel of the tensioner on the belt because the pulley sits nearly half way between the alt. pulley and the crank pulley. With the right belt, you can BARELY slip it on while pulling the tensioner ALL the way over. Then when it tightens up, it really torques the **** out of the belt -- it ain't coming off for hell or high water. Plus there's the added benefit of having the pulley splitting up that typically LONG stretch of belt that tends to flop around, which is how it jumps off in the first place.

I'm not set up to make them in quantity, I'm just a schmuck in his 2 car attached garage If someone wanted to mass produce them, I wouldn't be offended.

i run my original tensioner still, but i bought the high lip tensioner pulley from thunder and my belt throwing days are behind me.

Ahhhh, the Larry pulley! I forgot all about that. Maybe I will try that with the Katech.

Brains, The TTi alternator bracket does leave a bit to be desired, I would steal your idea but Im too lazy and stupid to try and fab my own
