Default ATI Procharger @ 8 lbs.

What kind of numbers (ET/trap/dyno) would I see with an ATI Procharger w/ 8# pulley? My current set-up and 1/4 mile times are in my sig.
Also, with a proper tune will 8 lbs. harm the LS1 in the long run? Thank you so much.

Numbers in Sig.... Didnt get a clean run at the track because clutch started slipping, but it traped 124mph with 2.4 60ft not from wheel spining(Clutch slipping).... Have a new clutch in and going to try soon.

Pretty good, but is this trap with the cam?

The car should trap close to 130mph, but with the slipping clutch which got me 2.4 60ft at the start and then slipped more in 3rd and 4th gear. I hit the limiter in 4th gear at 6800RPM which is not possible with 124mph on street tires due to the clutch slipping.

I can give u a better estimate next time i run the car with the new clutch. Most likely im going to use ET streets this time around.

Thanks, but you're going to have to subtract how much the cam adds because I don't have a cam. Good luck.

The cam gave me 37rwhp 15rwtq. The SC gave me 165rwhp 121rwtq with 7.5psi. Hope this helps.

On my Mustang Chassis Dyno, most F Body's that have just headers and a cat back typically dyno in the 310 rwhp range, as an average. Adding an ATI ProCharger D-1SC at 8 psi of boost will bump up the rwhp into the 440 to 450 rwhp range.

With proper tuning and with the air/fuel ratio in the 11.7 to 12.0 range at wide open throttle, and with 42 lb fuel injectors and a higher capacity in tank fuel pump, you will end up with a very durable and dependable combination that still gets good gas mileage. Driveability with these combinations is excellent!

We just installed and tuned a one owner '94 Corvette LT1 car this week that we installed an ATI ProCharger D-1SC on. Amazingly this Corvette has 192,000 miles on the internally untouched original engine! The owner realizes that he is putting the cart before the horse with adding the ProCharger, but said he'll just have us rebuild the engine if it goes... Bob

Bob,

If I'm already at almost 350 rwhp, can I expect to be around 480-490 rwhp? And is this with a tune or without a tune?

Thanks,

Phil

with enough boost, a kick *** tune, and some luck you can.

the problem is from what I understand that you can only go so far on the stock heads/cam before detonation and knock start coming into play.

if you upgrade aftercoolers im sure that would be no problem, but EPP is right, average is anywhere from 430-460 possibly rwhp on stock motor with minor bolt ons.

I'm assuming your numbers were achieved on a DynoJet, which does not apply a load against the cars drivetrain like a Mustang Chassis Dyno does. On a DynoJet chassis dyno you would indeed be up in the 480 to 490 rwhp range.

These numbers certainly are with a tune. You would never want to go wide open after adding a supercharger without some sort of tune! The fuel ratio needs to be richened up to keep the pistons from self destructing. Even one or two wide open runs without a tune can be potentially fatal to the engines longetivity. A mail order tune is better than no tune at all, but does not compare to getting a tune done on a eddy current chassis dyno with a wide ban air/fuel ratio meter. Bob

I have to agree with Bob on this one.

Bob...when did they start making Eddy Current dyno's? Can it scan for cracks in rims too <NDI/Eddy Current joke>

We didn't order our Mustang Chassis Dyno which uses eddy current, with the flux capacitor option, so therefore we cannot scan for rim cracks...lol Bob
