Default How hot should i be?

I have a 2002 Trans Am that has a D1SC procharger supercharger. The car runs about 210 just sitting at idle. The air conditioning is off with nothing ealse on. When i turn the air on at idle it will jump up to about to 230-240 in my opionion i think thats too hot, but is that normal with a supercharger? It will even get hot running down the road with the air on!, around 220. I just reciently bought the car and i noticed that it had one electric fan. Does just one come in the supercharger kit? The car was built with no budget in mind. I have invoices that total up to $42,000 in just parts. Any other advice would be helpful to me because this is the first car i own with a supercharger. Thanks in advance! Oh yea i live in lower Alabama where its really hot.

I have seen this before, we have a Pro charged P1SC customer here that it also runs very hot, he plans on having us install a pusher style fan in front of the radiator to hopefully help this. I think the single fan is the issue for anyone in a warmer climate, it is not really the supercharger but the way the kit was designed.

The problem is the fan with the ATI kit does not move enough air. I have a 160 t-stat and it would get hot quick sitting in traffic w/the A/C on. Turn off the A/C and it still would not cool down. I used a Spal dual 10" fan and now I have no overheating problems at all. During dyno tuning on a 95 degree day it never got over 187 (no A/C during tuning). So far it has never gone beyond the 195 mark where it always ran stock, even with the air on sitting in traffic. Do a search for Spal on this forum and you will find what you are looking for. They are a little pricey at just under $300 and you will need to trim them to clear the S/C compressor, but these fans move 2750 cfm compared to the 1600-1900, or so, the 16" single fan moves.

How would you tie the new one in with the other fan? Do you need another relay to?

Each fan has about 2ft of wire with a plug on the end. You just snip off the plugs and wire it according to the ATI instructions. If you wire it backwards it's no big deal, they just spin backwards, so test it before you crimp anything or you may have to redo it....I did.
If you aren't comfortable doing any wiring, it would be best to recruit someone with a little more expertise and buy them some beer for helping you out. Also, like I said before there is a fair amount of trimming around the blade housing where it will hit the compressor otherwise, so don't be concerned that it won't fit; it will.

Flex-a-lite fans. 2 pusher fans sit perfectly infront of the radiator.
Summit Racing # FLX-140 or FLX-240. I personally run these and am very pleased.

You have to trim the drivers side from about 6:00 to 9:00 almost down to the blades and if you have a power steering cooler, and don't remove it, you will have to trim the top side a little to slide the fans up to the top of the core support.

Yes. Why won't this let me enter just "Yes"? Not long enough. Picky, picky.
