Default Boost a Daily driver?

This a simple question to all you LS1 owner who already have a BOOSTED LS1. I simply curious weather you think a Turbo set up is daily driver friendly? I'm only shooting for 7-8 psi.

I'm still trying to decide (before i do any more mods to the car) weather i want to pursue Boost, All Motor, or Nitrous for my daily driver. Nitrous im probably going to pass on just because everyone runs around on spray and i want to be differnt. So whats more DD friendly? Boost or Built All motor? Again... im aiming for about 450-475whp....

yeah i know wha you mean Exit, I aint spendin no money on the car now, gonna save that up for a turbo setup!!! VVVRPsshshshsh (lol sorry) Mighty Mouse runs a load of pounds and thats his daily driver, i think he said he got around 19 mpg and he has a 900 hp motor so that did it for me to convert to turbo mod and stop tryin to build a NA motor!! Good Luck on which ever way you decide!!

Its just like a stocker untill you get into the boost. You will be fine. All motor (if you go wild) is not DD friendly. Turbos are great but remember, the more you do and the higher the power level the more unreliable it is compared to a stocker. I have been on the side of the road a few times and its always the little stuff.

Go for it! You can run a boosted car/truck all day long with a proper tune and no worries.

If it's like 7~8 lbs. of Supercharger boost, absolutely.

I started breaking a lot more stuff at 10 PSI.

If you live in a town where the precinct is full of Osifer Friendlies, then a turbo LS1 is definitely daily driver friendly.

To boost or not to boost? That is the question. (Heck Yeah!!!)
My daily driver is currently boosted at 5psi. However, I will be upping the boost shortly to somewhere between 8-10psi. Great thing I've noticed about street turbo setups are that they are usually mild mannered while not in boost. With my current setup, going into boost is very smooth.

Great.... well in that case... soon as i do a few other mods (cut-out/intake manifold) i'll start looking into a kit to save up for... I'm thinking im going to go with a rear-mounted set up... still got a lot of research to do tho

There is always alot of research involved.I would prolly think the rear mount STS would be the best for what you are wanting.

Forced induction (ATI Procharger D1sc) is the best bang for the buck IMO. It is the best move I made, going on 6000 miles on a Daily Driver with no problems, @ 540Hp. It is there when you need it other wise it is a total sleeper till you put your foot in it.
To bad I dont live at a lower elevation.

is that crank or whp?

I'm guessing a Procharger is a S/C'er.... how much did it cost you roughly just to have it running around on boost safely?

I'm acctualy intristed to see what kit you guys really recommend. I really want to go turbo but a S/C'er might be better fitted for my HP goals.... Im still totally neutral on everything...

Alex if you want a rear mount turbo kit, JL turbo is in Ft Lauderale, but if you want a supercharger i think procharger has the best kits, either way, its going to get pricy. Your looking at upwards of 4 grand either way, plus your still paying off the car. Just a thought.

I've got an STS kit with the T-67 on my SS and it runs great as my daily driver. I'm only running 5psi but it still hauls when I need it to. Plus it scares the crap out of people when I hit it on a Highway on ramp.
