i'd say the supercharger whine sounds more mean, but the building turbo whistle makes you say wtf.. then . its really hard to say which is better....

Could you specify worthless centrifugal whine, or badass positive displacement whine? Either way, I'm still voting turbo, because I love seeing the confused look on the faces of 4cylinder owners that don't know you can have low end torque and massive turbo boost.

I like the sound of the superchargers, but I did have fun driving the twin turbo Corvette we built with it's two blow off valves. Driving through small towns and shifting through the gears would get the blow off valves echoing off the buildings. Sort of ricey, but it was still fun... Bob

I don't see anyway that that could be considered ricey.

turbo gets my vote for both. silent at idle or low rpms, but makes their ears bleed when fully spooled

A turbo sounds badass!. The only street blower I've heard that I like has been the KB blower...

Like this one: http://videos.streetfire.net/Player....l%20Cobra&p=10

For me to install a blower, it would have to be at least this loud, no less. The LS1 blowers I've heard are too tame... IMO.

BTW, I know it's a Supra, but it's because of this sound I'd never get an SC. This was posted here some weeks ago. Unrivaled freakin sound! Pure bliss!

Turbo, stealth when you need it, and a can of whoop-*** when you need it, all in one nice package.

At cruise-ins the blower turns alot of heads and then draws a crowd when you pop the hood. Turbos soung great too but nobody knows you've got one unless you feel like breaking the law.

It's not against the law to throw a BOV salute.

Despite the needless old-school arrogance of the first sentence here, I gotta vote turbo for the same reasons he finally gives as he finishes out his thought.

i think it just depends on if you want somebody to know what you have done or you want it more stealthy. Oviously you will have no clue about the turbo till it spools

Agreed.

It's going to be to much fun when I pull in and some of the yahoos say: "what no more blower? Great..lets race!"

Me: sure
