turbo----ls6 intake or cam

turbo----ls6 intake or cam
I am wanting to add some more performance to my turbotech car. I know the ls6 intake should help and certainly a cam would too but I can only do one for now. My power seems to fall off after 5500 rpms and Im wondering which would correct this problem the best. It seems the intake helped Harlan at least keep close to a flat curve after peak rather than drop a lot. As for the cam...if the intake would fix the upper rpm problem then i would like a cam that creates less cylinder pressure in the 4500-5500 rpm range and give me more torque down low without losing any hp up top. Is this possible? Let me know what info you need to suggest a cam. I have the turbo on an all STOCK engine and run 5-7psi. M6 ..3.42 gear 3650 raceweight

Ever thought about a set of heads?
Everyone always goes CAM first.
Why not a set of good heads? They will help the air flow, and the car still retains it's "stock stealthy" sound...
Then go ahead and throw the LS6 intake on top and save up for a good split duration cam.
Why not go that route? Then you don't have to worry about programming and $hit right away.
I dunno, just another idea I thought I'd throw out there.

LOL.....Still can't make up your mind about that intake?? A cam will certainly make more power than just slapping on an LS6 intake. You'll want to run a split duration cam, more favor being to the exhaust. Is your car an A4 or M6??? The Hotcam is a decent FI cam, and pretty easy on the wallet. under 500 bucks for the cam and springs if I can remember correctly. You'd definately see a NICE jump going that route.
Good luck man, give me a call if you need any help.

Re: turbo----ls6 intake or cam
Josh I know need both. When looking at Harlans setup, the intake really seemed to help him up top to keep his hp curve from nosediving after peak. I will get intake/cam at the same time if I find a great deal on both. The hotcam is cheap enuff but I'm worried it will kill 1500-3500 torque

In some cases yes, this is true. It's all about trial and error man, LS1 cams are cheap, give them both a shot and see which works best for you .
