Default i'm only seeing 4.5 psi boost on the 3.20 pulley

i just finished putting in the the procharger (tuner kit / d1sc) and i can't get anything above 4.5 psi of boost. boost comes in at 3300 and peaks at 4800 and stays there at 4.5 psi. i checked the pully and there isn't any black dust around it, and i broke the tensioner bolt head (the one that pushes the pully down , so i'm stuck with it till i fix it ...any idea where to get one?)
i have heads/cam/exaust and was expecting about 8~9 psi from this set up.

the aux. pump works , fule pressure is ok ( it stays at 60 psi all the time. the othre thing i noticed is the car is not any faster (just came from the track) i gained 4 mph only with the same e.t.

one more thing to ponder ; i get the same boost with the cutout closed as i do with it open ( and i have a very ristrictive muffler).
could it have something to do with the tunning??

this sucks cause jason is probably not working tomorrow and i'm out of ideas !!!

update:
just came back from the bottom of my car, it seems there was excessive belt slippage! so excessive that i'm missing some of the ribs on the belt!!!, guess it's off to napa to get another one!

now just incase this isn't the cause of the problem , what should i look out for??

As I read your post, I was going to say, it HAD to be belt slippage!

Now WAY are you going to get less than 9 PSI with the 3.20 pulley unless you are somewhere other than sea level.

the 3.20 pulley is a 10 PSI pulley on a stock motor? dont be suprised if you only get 8 psi or so, you have a cam and longtubes right? that might flow well enough for the blower to lose a few pounds from that pulley, dont worry its a good thing if you have autotap pay attention to MAF flow rates.

Dude, just pull out that bolt and get to the hardware store and find a grade 5 or 8 bolt that is the same. And next time loosen the jam nut.

Sounds like you have some experience with that situation.

well i'm officially screwed!!
the tensioner bolt broke off ( the jam nut was loose) , so i had to remove the bracket to get it out. after several failed attempts to get it out, i finaly drilled it out and put in a new bolt ( a really good one from napa , one that doesn't snap off with the slightest force!! ). i now have to call ati and ask for a replacement bracket since this one is all messed up.

so i put it all back together and put in a new belt ( the old one was toasted so i got a new one of the same lenght) and begin to tighten the tensioner . i tightened it till the tensioner bottoms out!!! i thought " what the !#@$@%!" and check the belt for tightness,it was tight but not as much as i'd like it to be.
so i take her for a spin and as soon as i nail it it goes to 4.5 psi then back to 0 psi at 6k rpm!!!!

so my question now is ; were can i find a belt that is about an inch shorter ??? a part number would be great.

and spaeking of sea level, i'm in phoenix, which is at about 1000 ft. above sea level.

rock: i wish pulling that bolt out was as easy as you say. if it was , my head wouldn't be so swolen from banging my head on the garage floor!!

In all reality, this is not true. I've done dumber things though...

How else can one break one of these bolts?

the power steering cooler had nothing to do with it!!! the bracket was out of the car! tried every methode known to man ( and some other creatures) to extract the bolt, but i finally had to drill through it.....

the question still stands; does anyone know where i could find a belt shorter by about an inch to an inch and a half?? please include a part number so that i could mention you in my prayers!!!

what boost numbers should i expect from this setup at about 1000 ft. above sea level???

Hey, maybe tommorow you should bring the belt to an auto parts store and see what they got.

i already did , i had to cut the original one to get the bracket out. napa gave me the the exact belt but it's a bit too long, the tensioner bottoms out. so ..... i have to wait till monday to call ati for a bracket and a possible solution to the belt problem.
