Operation: FIRE HOSE is a GO!!!!
I've begun the attack on my new fuel system.
Got alot of pieces, and have made progress on the tank.
Car goes up in the air this weekend for test fit of the tank. Will pick fittings for the back half of the system then. Then it's time to pick line locations, and engine compartment routing
This should be fun

As it's currently layed out, i should be able to support about 1100 FWHP at 20 psi on 96 lb/hr injectors. Wish me luck

Yeah but is it going to be enough?
Are you selling your old fuel system?
20psi? Why so low of a pressure?

That's 20 psi of boost
45 psi base fuel pressure.
Yes, i'll be selling off the old system. Not sure when yet.
looks great
good luck
John
That's a stock steel tank from a '98. I used a Comp. Eng. sump kit.
I stumbled across another sump that i may have liked better. Jegs has one slightly different. But i think this will work just fine.

It's nice to have parts that you can grow into eh?
What's up with those fuel rails? Those aren't the 5.0L ones are they?
Happy plumbing my freind.

Are you worried at all about the noise or have you decided power over ears
That was the pump Nick was putting on the Camaro until I found out it was external, thats where the dual tank idea came up.
Good luck, I can't wait to see it run.
your only going 9:1, not lower? Get it down around 7.5:1 and you might make 800rwhp on pump gas!

5.0 rails. The center to center bore spacing is the same, and the injector angle relative to the rail is the same. However, the LS1 injector angle bank to bank is reversed. So the mounting tabs are backwards. I can't use the supplied ones anyway, so i didn't care. I got them more for the use of o-ring AN instead of NPT for the lines into the rails. I hate NPT on fuel lines. I plan to weld in the fittings for the sump once i test fit to determine if i need straigh ot angled.
As far as the noise goes Eric, we'll see. I've got the pump controller to run it at low speed until i need the fuel. Part to extend the life of the pump, second to keep it quite. Yes, a relative term
I'm not too concerned about it. I'll isolate it the best i can from the car, and deal w/ the whine. I personally think a mellow exhaust tone, and a LOUD *** PUMP are more intimidating
Harlan, what the hell is sticking out of the ends of that pump in the one picture.

Looks like I'm gonna need a lot more nawwwwwws to keep up with you now. Can you say "direct-port fogger"?
Not being Mr. Smarty-Pants or nuthin, but are you sure that's going to be enough fuel pump? I spent a lot of time talking with Aeromotive at the PRI show and if I remember correctly he said that pump would be borderline.. Maybe the difference is injectors though, I'm only running 85# injectors.. Oh well, too many to remember now..
Looks great! Best o'luck

I found the Jeg's sump after i went with the CE one. The Jeg's is angled on the sides, but it's a smaller volume. The CE it pretty good, and seems to fit well in the car.
The pump is big enough. I spoke at length w/ the aeromotive tech guy. This is their newer pump. You may have been discussing the eliminator pump, the bigger of the red pumps.
We did the back of the envelope calc's over the phone, w/ 96 lb/hr injectors, base pressure of 45 psi, and assuming 20 psi of boost to get there, the system will support 1100hp at the motor.
Should be ok i think
