There are various reasons one might have a slightly different price.

Some order the P-1SC
Some order the D-1SC

Shipping may vary between distances to ship

Shipping may vary by what shipper is used

Price may vary depending on price changes of components or a slightly different component
from any one of the suppliers

GWP may be giving a price break during a particular time-frame (most businesses do)

You may have simply negotiated a better price

Your setup may be more involved or need special consideration

You may be a PITA (Just joking! <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" /> )

These are just things I can think of, this is not info I got from GWP. I'm sure some of you can think of it, too.

The week after I bought a SY3500 for ~ $950, they dropped the price by about $100.00.

I still highly recommend Yank, am pleased with their product, didn't call them all mad asking why I didn't get the new price last week ANd plan to do business with them again.

I ordered another item that just went up $30.00 since last time I checked.

Heck, everytime I buy a new computer, I feel raped by the LAST price I paid for one! <img border="0" alt="[whiner]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cry.gif" />

Prices change.

Oh yea prices do always change but thats why I stay with Speed Inc. for anything I buy. Best prices around and always at the lowest. Plus excellent customer service. I remember calling jason at gwp and asking him what is all involved with his stage 2 kit. I told him I was just wanting to purchase the program, he said no problem. I told him be piecing stuff together, I will be able to get a kit cheaper, since I dont have all that money. Came out to like 500.00 dollars cheaper. Yea customer service is good but I guess not lately with the complaints. When I called him he sounded pissed off that I was putting together my kit similar to his. Oh well thats why I went heads and cam. Deep down tells me to go with a blower so thats what Im doing again. Maybe this time I will go through with it. Black TA your car is flying hope mine is soon. Oh all this is just my opinions and thoughts.

DANS LS1, reading posts, it is sometimes hard to know exactly what one is saying. I see where SS2K is coming from, and I don't buy it. HIS point is a ripoff.

I'm not following all you are saying. But, I'll try to honestly answer what I THINK you are saying.

Like all businesses that want to succeed, these businesses are trying to make money, or they don't survive. The setups we are buying cost. They are an aggravation to put together and tune. But, these guys do it because they like the work, they are trying to provide us a service and they are trying to make a buck. It is more than just the latter, 'cause believe me, there are easier ways to make a buck.

If anyone gets agitated (I'm assuming you read an honest emotion) that others are trying to duplicate their effort, you have to take in consideration it's hard to see your R&D copy-catted and the effort and money you invested in testing a good setup basically robbed from you.

If it were me, I could imagine figuring out a setup, product, invention, whatever... innovating a working system that's better than before. Of course, people want to achieve that performance or capability. Of course, the competition AND do-it-yourselfers are going to try to figure out what I did either to profit from it themselves or to avoid paying for it's cost. Fair enough.

But, then, they are actually going to call ME to get for free MY expertise, MY knowledge so they can circumvent paying for what I've developed? Yeah, I might be a little miffed!

I know everyone does not think about things this deeply or don't have the incentive to. But, at least consider this: you, I, SS2K and everyone else that wants superior performance products for our cars are really hurting ourselves when we use these people that make a livlihood creating products like this, then try to get all the knowledge THEY'VE accumulated, then dump them or go to the next cheapest guy, THEN trash them and bad-mouth them to make ourselves feel better or justify the direction we've chosen.

When teams like Golden West Performance and others stop spending so much up-front money to do Research and Development on new and innovative techniques because their market (us) don't want to pay them for that effort, don't want to pay for part of it, but go out and get the "wholesale" for the parts we can piece together that THEY'VE figured out that we need, we are really killing ourselves when they go under financially.

Then we will be left grumbling about the scarcity of quality performance parts and kits for our cars... complaining and wondering why there are no vendors out there supporting our LS1's.

Can you see the writing on the wall? I do. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

<img src="http://www.mlbuie.com/_smilies/soapbox.gif" alt="" />

I'll get off my soapbox now. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> No flame, just want you to try looking at this from a different perspective. Can you see ANY of my points? You sound like you are mature and intelligent enough to.

Hey, the best thing that you as a customer can do is what is happening here. I bet you $100 that GWP has seen this thread. I see how most of the other sponsors reply to threads so it only makes sense that GWP knows about this one. By airing out any complaints here any sponsor who cares about their reputation will make note of the complaints and make changes to the way that they do business. I don't care if your an engine building wizard you still need to treat your customers right or it may eventually come back to haunt you. Yea you might have more business than you can handle now but all things change. If the economy continues to go south and people hold on tight to their money you might see the engine building business dry up hard. The businesses that will be most likely to survive if something like this happens will be the best all around businesses (customer service, compentency, price). Lastly they sould protect their reutation at all cost, maybe responding to this thread would be a good start.

Who pays YOU to bash them? When someone goes out to do bad, to wrong someone, it's for themselves, right? But if someone tries to do right by people, they MUST be on the payroll. GROW UP, man!

I give more money away to charities than you spend on your car... and it's not because I'm wealthy. It's because I'm not self-centered... and only want to damage others. Everyone is not selfish and self-absorbed.. that's a child's thing.

It doesn't matter that you were or were not replying to me... you are posting on a public board. Anyone can comment on what you post. <img border="0" alt="[fight]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_punch.gif" />

A company trying to do business has to be professional and not sink to your level. But I can get down here and wallow in the mud with you for a while if I want... or as long as the moderator is amused with this useless thread. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

Since you like me so much, let me patch up a short ditty for ya <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

He went to the shop to get him some fast
'Cause Black LS1 T/A was kicking his ___ <img src="http://www.mlbuie.com/_smilies/bash.gif" alt="" />
Four weeks was too slow to git his fix
So he whines on the board like a little kid <img border="0" alt="[whiner]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cry.gif" />

You'd think he'd go race, and maybe he has
With more horses around, he's still can't go fast <img border="0" alt="[barf]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_barf.gif" />
One day he'll grow up and race his stuff
But for now hes's content to bluster and bluff <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

well if your in Houston I'll run ya, you on blower vs. my heads and cam, Or heck come to NFRA shootout, I'll be on gas then. You'll need alittle more than a 10.9 to hang with my 346 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

But by then you'll hopefully have your 382 built with lots o boost.

I can throw a rhyme about as fast as you can think. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I came up with that one as fast as I can type. It took longest to insert the pictures.

I'm not peeved at you... behind all that gruffness in this post, you appear to have a sense of humor. And you can't be all bad if you like F-bodies and speed. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

We're cool. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

We both made good points and actually agreed on some points. Sometimes its not about who's right or who's wrong... it's about perspective. <img border="0" alt="[chug]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_chug.gif" />
