Default Motor is finally "right!!"

With the help of 2bseen, I have gotten my motor in...running cool and ready to start tuning. Have one exhaust pipe to get welded but thats about it. My combo for those who asked earlier:
stock block, crank and rods. Rods have arp rod bolts with Ross 9:1 pistons. Went with Cometic "boost ready" mls head gaskets and arp head studs Heads are LS1, a local guys "stage 1" with 70-71cc chambers to get me around 8:75-1 compression. Cam is 2001 ls6/z06 cam with the matching springs. I went back with an aluminum flywheel which drives perfectly normal on the street. Also have asp underdrive pullies. Using ls1edit to tune some holley/msd 50# injectors and a Charged Air systems fuel pressure regulator. I'm hoping to be able to run 10-12 psi. Using my existing walbro 340 intank with a kenne belle boost-a-pump. Did a few other little tweaks but I will post that stuff if this thing ends up producing some decent numbers/times.

Cant wait for the results.. Were these 5.7L heads or 6.0L heads.. Thats alot of compression to drop..

5.7 heads. Yeah it dropped a lot and lost a little bottom end torque. 6th gear is not as useable on the highway as it once was but not too bad.

It only matters when the boost kicks in.. The compression is just right for the boost you are planning on running.. I think you are going to be fine..

I dunno about sick. I'm just trying to compete with 2bseen!! His looks and sounds bad ***....should run 10s when we are done tuning. My car looks and sounds stock...should run 10s as well. I could not have done this without his help and friendship Don't get all misty eyed Tony....I'm still gonna outrun you!!!!!

Jerry, I have been following your rebuild man. Damn glad to see everything finally worked out. Was it the head gaskets on backward causing the problem? The SS is in the shop getting an 02 T56 as we speak. I used the TSB to get it replaced under warranty. Anyway congrats dude. Hopefully Ill be as fast as you guys one day

Ron yes it was the head gasket AND no guts in my thermostat. This worked great for me in the past...i was running in the 175ish temp range but now it wont work. Once i reinstalled the stat...everything worked out. I'm trying to tune some msd 50# injectors now. They are gonna be way tougher than i thought. I'm gonna try to get them dialed in tho. Me and 2bseen are coming after you!! Cool deal on the tranny.....whoda thunk it?!?!

Are the 50s harder to tune than the 42s in my car. Btw it is not hard to decide which car will be faster you are doing my tune also so if I do out run you once the next week you are going to want to retune my car.

The 50s are WAAAAAYYY harder to tune than your 42s. It will not idle at all and surges like crazy till 3/4 throtttle.....but THEN it hauls ***. My fp regulator has been riding around on a FedEx truck for 4 days...can't find my address even tho fedex brought me a check from a client saturday I'm gonna take the regulator out of the tank and drop my fp and see if i can get it to idle
