Remember when it came out a few weeks ago that Tom was moving Incon to a smaller location? You just knew that was the end of the line.
My biggest fear with this situation is that something uniqely Incon - like the exhaust manifolds - would fail, and it would be a very costly thing to repair or replace them, knowing that the source for new ones has dried up.
But, someone (and I forget who) told me last year that he knew who all Incons vendors were.
It'd be nice if a Rob Raymer - or someone who has similar resources - would contact Incon for the rights to produce parts using their tooling and design. You think a production run of 50 kits at $6,000 each would sell? It would just take someone with the front money.
His whole reason in doing it is to save $$$ so that the extra money can go into parts and kits.
I knew that he was moving the shop to his house two weeks ago because he openly told me. I didn't say that the smaller location was his house when I posted originally because I didn't want people to get scared that they were shutting down.
I would be seriously worried about my investment if it weren't for Tom, but he has gone above and beyond what he has had to.
Everytime I have called in the last 3 weeks I have gotten through to him on the first or the second call...which was not always the case when he was working out of the bigger shop.
Give him some time...my car is down right now too, but I am smart enough to realize that the only way that things are going to get done for any of us is to give Tom some time to get things worked out. If Tom decides to leave (which I would have long ago if it was me) then we are all truly, royally fucked.
Just my .02,
Scott
The rumblings on the Incon list is that Incon has closed up shop down in Florida and Tom is working out of his house to get things cleared up.

There is alot of behind the scenes stuff on the Incon kit living on through another vendor purchasing tooling and supplying the kit, the market may be there.
I would say that the market is there for sure but I think Rob's kit will fill a big void.

This is the first I've heard of this. It would be very good news. I agree, if an announcement is not made soon, Rob's kit would grab the people waiting to go turbo, and twins would be a tougher sell because those on the fence would already have one.
I think you're spot on about no unhappy owners. After two years, I still believe this is the best FI kit for the LS1, and not by a little bit.
One thing that never sat right with me was the universal praise of Tom. It looks like I appear to be in the minority on this, but I don't share that view. I always thought that there was a little sucking up to him just so that kits would be delivered. Guaranteed, if you badmouthed him publicly, you would be the last TT owner in the US. I did it, and I'm sure I was not alone.

Whatever things may have happened in the past, I give Tom credit for this.
Incon is Dave Inall, Incon is going under, Tom's not stupid and Dave probably isn't paying him all that great, or at all at the moment, he could have jumped ship and left all the headaches and stress behind, instead he's stuck around trying to get things cleared up.
I know if I was working for a failing business like that I'd be long gone several months ago.
As far as other cars, the 4.6 kit never appeared, the LS1 kit was pushed ahead of it and they are missing orders on 5.0 kits too.

I'm glad Tom is at least still working on things.
If a few of you have spoken with Tom then you know some other things are in the works and there is a reason Tom is working on this stuff.
Its just incredibly frustrating to see how things went when the kit was so good, I don't think you will find an unhappy Incon OWNER, just too bad there are not too many of them out there.
