can you replace the bypass valve on the G trim with a BOV?
I asked this question on LS1.com and got no responses. It may be a stupid question but can I at least get a response saying it is, if not is this a possibility.

I don't know the answer, and some folk don't venture a guess because when they try, suddenly you have people who pounce on the post and ridicules them... or claim it's just an attempt to inflate their post count.
Either no one is sure, or the right person hasn't seen it yet. Keep that "ttt" handy.

He has a nice write-up about the BOV and it's affect on the ATI SC system here:

Maybe an issue or two from his discussion will give you some ideas to chew on.
I have the same setup as you but with the 13# pulley. I do not have a boost guage hooked up all the time. I guage it whenever I dyno and I was seeing 12# at wot (7100 rpm) and put down 576 rwhp. Last time I dynoed though I only saw 10# and 510 rwhp. I think my belt is sliping. Where are you tapping in at?

Thanks alot there is some great info in that thread. I have already experianced the raised heads and oil shooting out of the dipstick after I uped to the 13# pulley. I tore my engine down and found the rings damaged and replaced them and studded my heads thinking that was the problem but maybe not according to this thread (although the rings were an obvious problem). I am a little confused though H.O. SS talks like the Vortech already has a BOV and it just needs to be upgraded. I thought the V-9 came with a bypass valve and that is why it does not start produceing boost until after 2900-3000 rpms and just free spins at idle and lower rpm. Maybe it has both I guess I will call Vortech and see if they will give me any info.
Thanks again guys for posting and the info.

If the bypass valve is located after the mass air meter, the car will run very rich when the blowoff valve opens, as the car thinks more air is entering the motor than actual.

The setup is like yours with the bypass after the MAF but this guy alredy tried it and said it worked also it should be open only after the throttle body is closed and should not affect the metered air. I guess I will find out thanks for the reply.
