Default Would you consider this false advertising?

Golden West Performance states on their web-site that horsepower levels in the 475 – 525 rwhp can be expected with the stage 2 prochager kit. Well I have the stage 2 kit and my dyno pull turned out 423 rwhp, that’s 52 rwhp from their listed minimum. What do you guys think, would this be considered false advertising? What would you do if it were your car with the stage 2 kit and only dynoing at 423?
This isn’t a slam on GWP, I’m just trying to collect some feedback and weigh my options.

You need to ask if that is with heads, cam, headers, and exhaust and so on. Most often shops advertise the most possible with other high performance stuff included. I take advertising with a grain of salt. If you look into it I bet you would find this to be true.

That is a good point, but it doesn't say based off of heads/cam..ect. It states recomended with use of high flow exhaust and/or heads/cam package. I have the high flow exhause, but not the after marted heads/cam. Also their stage 1 is set for a stock cars and gives a level of 400 - 425 rwhp. I would think the stage 2 would be higher even if it was with a stock car.
Here is the link for those that might not have seen it. http://www.goldenwestperformance.com/ls1.htm

What year is your car? Have you had it tuned after the install?

It's a 99 TA. The only tuning was the custom program they sent me as part of the stage 2 package. I'm thinking about running over to Thunder Racing and letting them do some dyno/tuning on it. But not having to do this type of tuning was one of the reasons for going with the stage 2 kit in the first place.

Stage II is designed for motors with some engine work.

With the stock internals, no headers and the 4.10" pulley, I only got 405 RWHP and 425 RWTQ. After upgrading the injector size, changing to the smallest pulley, changing the programming and putting on headers/y-pipe, I ran 486 RWHP/487 RWTQ.

Thus these ranges can, as they say, be "expected". It does not say "guaranteed". It's up to what you do to bring the power of the Stage II out.

That being said, since some of us are running 480 to 500+ RWHP, I think you should be, too, and that your "option" should be to find out what is wrong with your setup. If you have the same GWP kit as I and others have, you too can be nearing 500 RWHP.

You know I never was a fan of "Send me the PCM for tuning" I'm thinking you can't go wrong with getting tuned at Thunder. Make sure you have ALL the mods on that you will be doing in the next so many months before you go. You want them to tune it to the setup you have right now. Know what I mean?

I'm thinking it's the tuning as well, I've been waiting to receive my corrected program form GWP. But I will also run over to Thunder Racing and let them take a look at it. I'm sure hands-on tuning will show a great differance.
Just FYI..I'm running Grott Lt headers w y-pipe, Yank 3400 pro extreme, borla exhaust, and GMAF with the 3.4 pulley, 43 injectors. So I'm running what most people are running that are seeing the 475+ rwhp readings. Talk with you again soon. Hey Black, could you maybe talk with Jason about the state of my programmer? I leave e-mails and e-mails after phone call after phone call, I never get any replies back from them. They are leaving me with only a few options.

I left my number on your voicemail. Give me a holler. There are a couple alternatives for you.

Okay, first things first. Thanks Michael (Black LS1 T/A) for going out of your way to help me with this when you didn't have too.
Secondly, it looks like we may have found a means to an end, not 100% what I had hoped for but still a good meeting point between GWP and myself.
There are still some small things to iron out, like finding and returning or refunding my original program. But now it looks like we have something to work with.
Thanks again Michael

Hey, Jay... I got up with Jason again and it's a go.

Shoot me your Postal address (not a P.O. Box). It has to be a street address.

Glad to help a fellow LS1'er.

On my stock motor I dynoed at 433hp and 398ftlbs of torque. I have the GWP stage "3" kit and was running 8psi. Also my air fuel ratio was 9:1 or so which is really rich. I think the reason you dynoed low is in the tuning, much like my problem was. I would think you should be able to get 450 or so at least. IMO
