Default Hi-Flo Turbo Systems: "Street Killer" Intercooler Pics

Minor trimming of underside of front fascia required for installation, as shown here.

A robust mounting solution, utilizing existing factory holes/threads.

The car is up on a lift very close to the wall, making it somewhat difficult to get good pictures at the moment. As soon as it's down we'll be taking more pictures and posting them up as well. The intercooler is mounted horizontally and is flush with bottom side of the notched bumpercover.

From the factory the part of the fascia this intercooler system replaces is closed up. There is not alot of airflow in the factory design that is directed to the radiator that part of the underside of the car. In fact, our intercooler's position and opening up the bumper adds additional surface area for air to enter the radiator area.

Hmmn, an intercooler that works with both Camaros and Firebirds, and will still get good air flow. I like it. I'm guessing that pretty much all of the air pasing through the radiator is passing through these first, right? Or am I not picturing it correctly?

yes Ive been mounting IC's in this position for the last 4 years, its flat at the bottom of the radiator air passage, air goes through the IC then on to the Radiator, works well, but not as well as an FMIC.

I think I'll try it. But will probably end up going FMIC. That's why they put the license plate mounting location there, right?!

I know the nose of my car has a number of scrapes on it from driveways and such.

You think the IC will survive very well under there?

I can see someone pulling to far forward in a parking spot and crunch.

The driveway scrapes are usually towards the front of the bumper cover. Our test car has scratches there as well. I don't believe steep driveways will be an issue. As far as pulling to far forward into a parking stopper..... probably not a good scenario, although I don't see much potential for puncturing the IC. Maybe a few good scratches, depending on how hard you ride up onto the concrete. I guess this system will require the driver to pay a little extra attention when parking nose first into a concrete parking stop.

Looks nice. Reminds me of the S-10 ATI kits. They did not work the best even with a nice 3-core ATI intercooler though. They required scoops that would often get ripped off.
Do not take offense just some constructive crit. I am sure it works well as they whole system thus far looks to be truely "top notch" in my book.

If you're still scraping the front and haven't learned your distances, then maybe spending the amount of money a turbo kit costs on your car isn't a good idea.

I scraped once when I first got the car, I'm not going to lie.

NEVER again. Sometimes I overdo it and my trunk is sticking out too much, but I ALWAYS make sure I have room in the front, especially, since I'm lowered. Intercooler or not, scraping on occasion is just stupid.

The two scratches I have serve as a reminder to me of how stupid I was that day.

I'm not getting it. Is the rear side of the IC pushed all the way against the A/C condensor? So the air has to go through the IC completely before it goes through the radiator and condensor.

How is that NOT going to cause a fast overheat?
