STS problems...

Default STS problems...

we dynoed at 448 HP @ 6# good...558 HP @ 11.5 # GOOD...Problem is we need more boost and when we street drove the car in the 11# setting it sets of the oil warning alarm but not in the 6# I have tried to STS five times today and left multiple messages and no reply...so I was hoping you guys might help
Im resarching some different wastegate springs and Im confident I can get the boost up

also I have some IAT data I know everyone has been interested in

It was 76* 56.488% hum. 29.166" hg, today
when I started my first pulls at 11# I had been doing part throttle tuning for a few hours so she was all warm and happy IAT started @ 82 @3000 BY 3300 It dropped 1* and then climbed to 93* by 6400 (built full boost instentaneously) not bad !!! Ive seen plenty of ATI intercoolers hit 140* at this power level

is that with a front mount intercooler (93degs), How much power did you make at 11psi?


I am installing a LS1 twin ATI -procharger intercooler set up on my 01 SS M-6, because i do not want to install a front mount , then i will loose my stock SLP SS grill - bumper insert, so i am going stelth and pickesd up a like new set of ATI LS1 twin intercoolers with everthing, Y-piping , air pressure box, piping , hoses to mass air - T-body and down to intercoolers.
should not be too bad to hook up the STS boost discharge pipe the the ATI Y pipe.

558 @ 11.5 # boost
should not be to bad to hook up, but not as efficient as the FM, how much boost would you like to run??

Do you guys have the upgraded pump? I know for any kind of big power, they send a different scavenger pump. From what I understand, the standard pump cannot pump through the force of the car moving. If you do have that, maybe there would be a different way to route the oil lines to help move the oil better???

that is news to us!! Bob told them what we where up to I would guess they would have sent us the best stuff...then again I only got a 11# spring. It has to be G-Force related because it doesnt do it on the dyno!!

those are good numbers and thats on a mustang dyno right?
yes and there is a more high volume pump that they give with t t70-76
I know you can look at the pump and tell witch one it is but I forget how.
I think the reg one is flat in the bottom of the pump and the higher vol. one is more round but im not sure on that!

i want to run 10-12 PSI to start , then as much as 15 PSI

i am building a 347 short block with diamound boost pistons, eagle H-beam rods ARP main and head stud kit, will have around 9.3 compression.
What size turbo should i run????

If this is for an STS setup, I just called STS to find out, since I'm running a similar setup. I just ordered a GT 76, should be good for that kind of boost/hp. But, I am building a 370...you may want to call them to make sure that's the right size for a 347.

the car is 382 diamond/compstar/callies with 9.3 CR fast 90/nick williams 90 sumbody did the heads out of speed inc. and a bad *** RPM transmission... we want to get all this nailed down for a race on the 22 oct. in norwalk!?!?

PurEvil ran a lot more power than anyone else I have seen or heard of, might want to ask him what pump and anything related, or Dan (Slowhawk).

Brent, are you using the STS Stock clamps, or wider and/or T bolts?
