Turbo mounting cause oiling problems??

Turbo mounting cause oiling problems?? Has anybody had any problems or know if it would cause any problems if you mount your turbo at like a 45 degree angle. Would everything still oil properly?

Re: Turbo mounting cause oiling problems?? I've never seen an install where the shaft was not parallel to the ground. Oil flow is critical. I have seen turbo bearings go because the drain into the pan was in line with a connecting rod and that cause a restiction.

Re: Turbo mounting cause oiling problems?? It should be in a 15 degree of centerline to be best. Is it cause it is to low or is it because you don't have room? other solution mount super low and get a scavenge pump to mount on the motor (razor, etc...)

Re: Turbo mounting cause oiling problems?? Yeah I dont really have the room and I really dont wanna run a pump. Seems more complex and to many possibilities for problems. How low can you mount them befor you do need a pump?

Re: Turbo mounting cause oiling problems?? Needs to be above the oil line by a bit so it is a downward line to the oil.
Is it you need the turbos low or just the angle isn't right? The thing you could do is create a resivoire and have it go to the tank or whatever then drain to oil pan from there just to give yourself a little more area for the oil. If you are mounting the turbos low make sure to use bigger drain back line so it has less restriction.

Re: Turbo mounting cause oiling problems?? Its both that I have a problem with. You would think since its an astro I would have plenty of room but I dont. I could go a diffrent route and mount the turbos further back but I think that would cool the exhaust gasses too much. Can anybody tell me how far back the turbos are from there heads, as far as how far the exhaust has to travel? My headers are Jethot coated so it helps alittle.
