I want to go with a Procharger but don't know which would be best suited for me. I see a lot of guys running the P1 but most people say to go with the D1. According to the info that ATI sent me the P1 will make more low end power and the D1 will make more high end. Also it says that unless you plan on running 12# of boost or more that the P1 would be best suited. I understand the D1 will be more efficient and push more air at the same amount of boost. It would also allow more room to grow
Some things that I have read say that the P1 has radial impellars which is better for low end power and the D1 has helix impellars.
The most cubes I would ever run would be a 383 and probably never run more than 12#. I plan on keeping the stock motor for as long as possible.
One thing that makes the P1 more appealing is the lowend for everyday driving.
Can someone shed some light on this. Maybe we need a pros and cons list for both?

I'm running the P1 and that is fine for me. I'm not looking for over 500HP. I want to keep the stock bottom end and not looking to push it too hard. It's a real kick in the @$$ going F/I.

We were easily able to get 14 pounds of with a 395 ci that we built, when we added a D-1SC. Patriot Performance stage 2 heads, Lingenfelter GT2-3 camshaft. I don't remember the pulley size, but we weren't at the smallest pulley size. Bob

From what I've seen in this section, boost is addictive. People always seem to want more. If I was in your position I would get the D1 just in case.

I run a D1 on my GTO and love it. I have all the boltons and cam... And I am glad I went with the D1 because I already want more than the 550rwhp I am making! Of course it takes alot more power to get this pig of a GTO moving than your FBodies!

If you're going to get your car professionally dyno tuned and aren't looking for a package that includes a tune, then you'd might as well upgrade to the D1... it's a small % increase in total purchase cost, but many people recommend them.
In my case, I needed to purchase a complete package w/tune because there were no experienced LS1 tuners in my area. As such, I bought the P1 kit w/tuner and have been very happy with it.
