Default FMU --DO I STILL NEED IT??

Im adding stage 2 gtp heads and a blower cam to my car this winter(1996 350 lt1 vortech 7 psi) And i am also instaling 38# injectors. It was sujested to me that i do not need the fmu anymore. And that i could have better fuel control with out it. What do you guys think.
thanks for the help

One last question what is the best place for the maf. I am planing to move it up and place it after the intercooler.

Micah

It depends. How much power do you think it'll make? As a comparison, I made 440RWHP before I ran of fuel in my 92GT with 30lbers. Up to that point, the A/F was below 11.9. Intercooled boost uses less fuel, so that will help some.

I have no idea what type of power i will make. Im hoping for over 500hp. But people on this bd say ill be more in the 450 hp range. 450 hp on a h/c car with 7 psi of intercoold boost seems like a low number to me. I guess ill find out this summer. I donk know at what point i will run out of fuel. I have the stock fuel pump and the t-rex fuel pump that came with my blower kit.

you can ditch the FMU if the injectors will support your fuel requirement.

I would ask on the lt1 forums to see if 38's are enough, to be sure, as they have more expierence with the exact info on your setup.

Sorry, i meant to a board with a little more LT1 traffic.

I posted this on www.camaroz28.com for you yesterday, and this is the responce i got.

http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...threadid=77995

I can agree with what they say, and if you have not bought the injectors yet, the 42's are not too much more than 38's.

my ip address is block. I was kicked of that sight a few months ago. Bunch of puck *** bitches over there. I already bought the injector a few months ago. Brian who did my basic tune form pcmsforless told me that i should not need it and i just wanted to double check. I can say one thing he does a good job with the tuning.
