SS..... you could be correct, but always thought it was a ceramic. My father owned #281, and I've been studying those cars for years. Just sold my 11sec GN to buy my SS I just checked all of my production books, and they state that the impeller was "made from ceramic metal to reduce heat and improved efficiency". All the different spec sheets list the tubo as a Garrett T-3 with ceramic impeller. It doesn't mention coating, but the term "ceramic metal" may very well mean it's coated metal. Either which way, I wouldn't recommend anything ceramic!! Even coated headers for the turbo 6 are un-coated on the inside. The chance of the coating flaking and running itself through the exhaust turbine is too great.

Actually i've been working a lot of late shifts and haven't had any time to work on my car what so ever. I hate having two jobs, it really sucks a$$. As far as my project (Twin Turbo Terror) goes, i've been working on the intercooler to intake plumbing. I'm taking pics w/ a one time use camera to instructions if anyone else wants to do this. I'll keep you guys posted.

danny,
were you able to use the pressurized plate there above the oil filter, or did you use a pump?

I am going to be starting this same build up in about a month.

let me know
thanks

I used two scavenging pumps so that i can be certain that the turbos get the oil they need.

danny,
did you use the pumps to get the oil back to the motor, or the oil to the turbos? Where did you get the pumps? IS there a part # or something like that. I dont know if I want to use pumps, as the pressurized line should do fine, I am also going to run coolant to the turbos. But I just wondered, how much were the pumps?
thanks

I got them off a friend that had spare parts off an incon kit. I use them to get the oil back to the pan. I'm going to try using a gravity line to see if it will work.

danny did you ever try the gravity line thing?
How low do the turbos mount, are they at least half way up the oil pan? If not then I doubt that the gravity drain thing would work.

Also where did you get the flanges to weld to the manifolds to hold the turbos. i ahve not been able to really find any that fit the DSM turbos.

I am going to call hahn racecraft soon, and see if they will sell me the adapter for the super 20g conversions kit, as they have the right bolt pattern.

THank as allways

Can you do this same setup in my car for cheap if yours works out? $3500.. $4000.. hehe name your price.. Sounds like a sweet budget home-made kick some high-priced cars setup! I admire your work.
