The same assumption goes for yours as well.

We can agree to disagree...Ive grown to know that turbos were meant to be mounted as close to the engine as possible. So thats where the kit will be on my car. I plan to go fast. If it doesnt ill be pissed at no one buy myself. I will build from scratch and help others with what ive found for parts to use like these flanges. If you need some , just hit me up.

Ok Ok I'm sorry that BigBird has a turbo and is still slower than Burnem N/A that he started picking on.

My first post I gave him props for the power and asked of his speed in the 1/4. Just because I feel my N2O is better in my setup don't mean he has to cry about it. I said qoute "to each is his own" end quote!

You made my day... seriously... Thank you. If I had the money I'd pay you to make that road trip and kick his ***.

I'm sorry, but 500hp with an sts isn't going to convince anyone that's still a skeptic of that **** system.

Very well said guys, but lets keep this on topic. Some people are just afraid to speak their minds/truth.

Truth hurts sometimes and people are blind to see it.

well congrats on your 11 sec run with the sts.I am a fan of the sts kit I had one on my car for a while,it was great from a roll took off like a rocket, but when I put slicks on and tried to launch it it wouldent come alive untill middle of second gear [mine is a 6speed] an auto would do much better with this setup.it was vary fun but also a little disapointing so i sold my sts and going with a procharger dsc1 kit.good luck with your sts and quest for 10s.

*Sigh*.... Burnem and V6Bird: I wasn’t talking **** to anyone, I am simply trying to share my experience with other interested STS folks, and hopefully convince some of the STS haters that when the kit is built right... it is a good kit for the dollar.

I had to change NOTHING in my engine bay to install this kit (i.e.: AC is still there). It would take a couple of hours to pull this entire kit and bring the setup back to a factory-like setup. This is a desirable thing for me...

The kit makes GREAT power, but I will admit it has Supra like drawbacks of lag. THAT is what I am working hard to overcome. I believe that I am there with the kit now.... I don’t think that I will have to invest another $ more that what I already have. I believe that when I pull the cats, install the Harlan 2-Step and the CF Drive Shaft (I own all these parts already) with a good tune and good tire setup.... I believe that my full street trim (spare tire and all) setup will be at least in the 11 flat... hopefully in the high 10's.

Now I have seen allot of fast NOS cars... and if you read my post earlier I admit and have no contention with the fact that you can build a fast NOS car for cheaper... that is not what this thread is about. I am not trying to convince anyone that FI is cheaper than the NOS route.

V6: As for your mild **** talking that you give me.... and I tend to see you give everyone that. I enjoy racing everyone. I don’t care if you’re faster then me or slower... Ford or Chevy... car or truck. I enjoy winning and loosing just the same... Now if you want to come down and race me in San Antino or hell next summer sometime at an event that is in the middle of the two of us... It would be fun (for me anyways). Maybe... just maybe if you get beat by a STS car... you will at least stop bashing us.

Oh and I am not sure if I answered this question earlier my Trap was 116.

I sure as hell wouldn't ever buy a STS system for so many reasons, but I don't think it's right to trash the mans thread.

If he's happy, that's all that's important!

BTW PE,

Who owns the 9 sec. vette? The only 9 sec. rear mounted turbo vette I've heard of was the one Cartek did and it was wasn't even remotely close to being an STS production item, it was put together by Cartek using some basic STS pieces (such as the oil system).

I was just wondering if you knew of some 9 sec. STS vette that I didn't. And yes, the Cartek car is a rear mount system, but there was lot more done to get that car into the 9's than just some basic home brewed rear mount turbo system that anyone with a few basic tools could build in a day or two. To the best of my knowledge, there are not many if any, 9 sec. STS kits running around (although I'm sure that will change soon enough).

I think what purevil is saying is that STS is a name brand.. rear mount is what we are talking about. Just like a big NOS setup is not the same as a 50 dry shot... a 9 Second Rearmount setup will not be the same as a 12 second setup.

Default His point is

He's happy so let him brag jesus! but if he didnt install this kit himself!

REMOVE ALL BRAGGING RIGHTS!!

If you dont install your own stuff you dont have bragging rights

you just have a deep pocket book !

then yah might as well just buy a jet engine and put in the back.

I think the cool part of the sts kit is the average guy can put it on with

basic hand tools and a tap! I wonder why they dont include a tap??

its hard to find that tap in a oklahoma tool store IN STOCK!

NO BLOOD SWEAT OR TEARS NO BRAGGING RIGHTS!

and with this kit as easy as it goes on if you paid someone

to install it your a fool! or shouldnt be driving

What an idiot! I bet 75% of all work on this board was done by performance shops. Not everyone has the knowledge or TIME to mod their ride. Where do you come of shooting down someone who has paid to mod their car and is happy with the outcome. Give me a break.

Not talking **** here, but the only chance of you beating my car is if you prayed to Allah and he came through for you...

You've got a better chance of racing Big Foot and beating him than you do with my car and its setup. Just stating the facts. Not trying to be harsh. Nothing in the world will change my mind to run an STS kit, even if it meant life or death....

I think all you ******* who call yourselfs DIY'ers need to shut up... You know the second you start trying to copy the STS kit, you're gonna be right back on this forum asking for advice or how to do something or where to get parts, just like ever other failed attempt.. If your gonna bitch about something, maybe you should swap skirts with your wife and be a homemaker.. If you were a true DIY're, you would have thought of something like this way before someone had the ***** to make it into an actual kit.. All you whiners can
