Default Any interest in ATI brackets?

Hi,

I'm thinking about making an ATI blower bracket for a member of this board, but it's not cost effective to make one.

Are there any people interested in polished, hardened aluminum ATI P1SC brackets with tensioner and high quality fasteners for $350?

If enough people are interested to make it profitable I may go into business. The target market would be people who want an ATI blower dont want to spend $6000 on a kit.

sounds like a good idea, but i think the majority prefer the d1-sc on here. One thing i hate about ati is all the tubing.

Yep, both use the same bracket. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Dont the P600/P600b also use the same brackets? If so, this would allow almost anybody could do a kit for cheap (buying a used P600b head unit from the corral). I'm surprised there isn't more interest.

They probably do Slart. The F1 uses the same mounting holes also. It requires different spacers than the other blowers though.

This would be good for someone that wanted to either make there own intercooler setup or someone that wanted to run a water/alky system and not worry about the intercoolers. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

The issue is the piping... folks would still have to make/ source that.

I am having a custom Vortech YS trim bracket made for my car, but the saving grace would be that anyone who wanted to run a YS trim wouldn't mind probably making their own piping.

Piping is the easy part <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I am doing a custom setup with a P1SC no intercoolers and water/alky.

When mine is done I will be happy to share the recipe with anybody that is interested.

It will come in thousands less than the kit's out there now and should out perform them to boot <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

What about making a 98 bracket for relocating the cruise control, and not asking $130 like ATI?

The interest lies in how much stronger your brackets would be compared to the ATI bracket. If you can design a bracket with less flex and a tensioner that offers better tension(self adjusting) than the ATI unit you will have a lot of interest, scroll down on this page and you will see that a member Y2K.... had a bracket flexing problem with his high HP/TQ set up and it was chewing up belts left and right. I am in the process of building up a low compression high boost motor and will be pounding out some big numbers so my interest in your brackets is high if they can be made to the above examples.

Darkformula,

Can you point me to a picture of the ATI bracket you're talking about?

I can make it as inflexible as anybody would want, if there's enough demand to make it profitable.

The breakeven point depends on how much R&D it takes to make it inflexible. I'll do some research and get back to you.

Unfortunately, I don't have a pic of a 98 bracket. I bought a used 01 kit with the 01 bracket, that's why I had to remove my CC from the car.

Maybe someone on here with a 98 could provide a pic?
