looks nice, but don't really see the point on a single intake manifold OHV engine.

Had it been DOHC with a single intake per bank then I can see the sense.

Still it does look kinda shiny

The point is they're positive displacement blowers. Instead of moving 2300CC's of air with every revolution like you would with one blower, you're moving 4600CC's of air. More air = more power = more badass.

that's right. If possible, I'd love to just strap another whipple on my truck, but, the fabrication would be huge $$$$$=not worth it.

still cool as hell though. blownchevy is doing a twin radix right now

I understand what they do. But surly a larger capacity blower would work just as well, with a less complex belt and intake system.

Not too mention 2 blowers also means twice the HP lost in driving them.

As I said I can see the logic on a DOHC unit. Such as an Aston Martin V8 or a Jagaur V12, they have seperate intakes for each bank. So you can simply look at each cylinder bank as a seperate engine joined by a common crankshaft.

It would then allow you to run smaller supercharger per bank. Or failing that run the same blowers but at a more efficent state and still acheive more boost.

Whipple just came out with a 3.3L and so up till then there were no other screw type chargers available that were big enough. I know you can geta BDS or any other roots style blower to work, but not as efficent as the Whipple chargers.

that 3.3 setup looks sweet. I don't think it will fit under any of our hoods though. maybe mine, not sure.

Whipples been doing this for big block marine engines for awhile. The thing is some of the intake are just large open areas the have tomuch volume, i.e. no runners just open boxes. The ones that have seperate intake work great.
