Love to start one. My DIY anodizing is second to none. Been doing this kind of stuff a long time. Was going to do a thread in "tools" but honestly I thought it would just get lost in there. Been garage polishing for 35 years. Except for the anodize tank (diluted battery acid), my other plating supplies are all water based. Commercial plating is cyanide based. Nasty ****. Copper/nickel/chrome. Anyone can do it but its like painting..... only as good as the prep. You could set up a 5 gal. anodizing system for less than $100.00 including dye (not including a cheap battery charger).

You should definitely start an anodizing thread... either in tools or the appearance/detailing section.

Home-made headers. Stainlessheaders.com collectors. Wategates are Tial 44mm. Probably go with the Tial 50mm BOV when that time comes.

1) are you worried about the headers and exhaust manifolds being too close to the hood for heat reasons? Won't that discolor the paint on the hood?

2) What's going on with the alternator there... is that it behind the power steering pump?

Only thing original is the block and crank. Those two items have about 1000 or so in machine work and balancing. Rest is the usual forged/cam/valvetrain/heads.

So are you going to put the heat shields over the headers too? It'd be a shame to hide all that nice work! I see a lot of people run the headers/manifolds low, but not too many run them up high. Even if you have two or three inches between the hood and the turbine, I could still imagine you could have some heat issues. Just curious because I want to keep the manifolds and turbines up high on my setup and just want some more thoughts on it.

Also, how did you get the alternator way back there? It doesn't look like it's on the main accessory belt pulley.... what did you do to make that work? Just curious because I will prob have to relocate my power steering pump on my Fbody pullout if I run my manifolds/turbines up high too.

Thanks! -Dave

This is the alternator thread https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...ight=alternate

Far as heat sheilds, I can lasercut thin stainless so I will do some kind of nice looking pattern. Was even thinking flames like the Audiobahn amps...... but thats a bit much.
