Default Cam Suggestions Please

I just purchased a forged LS1 short block. I will be installing a D1-SC with a FMIC and probably running it at 12 PSI. I will be running PP LS6 style heads with a 72CC chamber and a 2.08 intake and 1.60 valve. CR should be about 9.6:1. What would be a good blower cam for this combo? I want the most power I can get out of this combo. Car is a 6 speed. Any suggestions? I am new to the FI scene and could use some pointers. The GT2-3 has made good numbers but I was thinking about something quite a bit larger if it would help. I currently have a F14 on a 112 and I bet it would lick ***** as a blower cam.

Thanks in advance.

i dont see the F14 being that bad of a cam choice... 232"/234" .598"/.598" 112LSA.You could probably benefit a bit more from a custom grind cam, something like a 236/232 .58X/.58X 114ish.Call up Futral and talk to Allan about a custom cam.

FI cams I thought needed less intake dur and more exhaust dur. a 236I/232E would prolly suck even more.

the people ive seen who've posted good results had cams that looked something this:
220I/230E/114LSA

but im no expert, id call one of the sponsors that know what they are doing. TR makes a FI CheaTR came and LPE makes a good blower cam as well.

Would the F9 be a good choice?

Damnit!i said it backwards...reverse the duration i listed.Im so used to Turbo applications, lol
Superchargers generally like traditional split cams whereas turbos usually end up getting a reverse split cam

Does having a closer LSA benefit all that much for blower applications? I mean, is a 114 acceptable or do I need something closer like a 117?

How about a solid roller, like the Comp Cams Xtreme Street Roller (XSR)series - I'm thinking for the M6, a 236/242 on 114LSA. Net lift right around .585/.592". They'll grind it for you on a LSx blank for less than $450.

Just so you don't think I'm suggesting a crazy-big cam, the advertised duration on that would only be 274/280. If you wanted it more aggressive, you could go 242/248 for an advertised duration of 280/286 and a little more lift.

You would have an idle with a modest lope, and killer power that would rev up to 7000 if you wanted.

I'm running a XSR230/236 on 112 with 8# from a Vortech and love it. I'm running an A4 so I went with the slightly lower duration.

Here's the lobe list, on page 18:

http://www.compcams.com/Technical/Ca...obeCatalog.pdf

And the LSx roller lifters, pushrods and shaft rockers on page 4:

http://www.compcams.com/Technical/Ca...005/NP2005.pdf

These new street rollers only need adjustment every 10K miles or so.

Jim

I want to be around 600-650 RWHP @ around 12 psi I suppose. Not saying it's possible but it's a goal I have in mind. I have a F14 now on a stock cubed car and it is only slightly smaller.
