Try to get 3rd to lock at 40mph.Also let the car idle and get the Turbo hot before the runs,it will spool quicker and give a better hp #.

I'm afraid to ask where your timing is

FYI- Mikes old STS had timing at 12 degree's with 14lbs-pump gas/700rwhp. The new setup ran 14 degree's at 14lbs=820rwhp/pump gas. That should give you a start.Plan on being on the dyno for some time.If you want you can call me if you have any questions while your there

Well I dyno'ed it. My car sucks and didn't fail to disappoint me with low dyno numbers again, IT has never dyno'ed good EVER. Car would boost slowly and rev slowly, but right after the dyno session it'd build boost and rpms faster than hell on a street test.

We found my car can take 18psi without blinking an eye.
We found my car can take *** loads of timing without blinking an eye.
And I've always suspected my altitude affects my compression ratio...all the guys at the dyno confirmed that belief today, said my 9.1 build is more closer to 8.1-1 up here at a mile high

I'll post the best graph later

Always remember this, never mind what the boost gauge says. If it will make 1000rwhp, who cares whether its 10 psi or 100psi. Just crank her up another 2-4 lbs to make up the difference. Heck on our race car we don't even plan to have a boost gauge in it....lol. We turn it up till it goes fast enough or starts to blow parts out the tailpipe.

Crazy Jose

I wasn't too concerned with the boost, but damn the car was acting like the dyno drums were locked up....it rev'ed slowly and built boost like old people F@#K...
We kept turning the boost up and up and up and up....but the car would spike at 10psi and hold steady at 9psi. No matter how much we would turn it up 9psi was its max.

We then tested the boost controller, worked fine. One of the fastest turbostang guys here Mike Keenan, said hell with it, hook the boost controller up to the top port on the WG and let the side port vent, it'll boost alright...just gotta watch it.

So we did, and bam 10psi rock steady, power increased. Turned the *** to reduce boost, but it made even more boost like he said it would Next run 12psi, more power. Then we turned it up even more, shooting for 15psi, got 18psi BUT the car kept going slow through the rpms and building the boost slow as hell too.

On the street, totally different animal, boosts fast and rev's just as fast

Oh I know that, my car always dyno's low but runs fast at the track.

BUT the track doesn't open until march I wanted something nice to hold me over until then but nope my car won't dyno for ****.

The dyno guy was having a hard time believing me that the car "feels" faster than my old procharger set up. Its a night and day difference between this turbo and the D1-SC. The turbo makes a ton of power and its pretty damn scary when it does. But on the dyno it rev'ed painfully slow.

I'll post the graphs in a few. Trying to get the scanner to work, if not i'll take a pic of them..
its not pretty be warned.

Yep same one. Just yesterday while I was there, a turbo cobra put down 900+ rwhp but was a six speed, so my hopes were high.

That's your problem man...The guy was probably biased to Mustangs and put more load on while you were dynoing...hahaha...Even though you say they're low I'd still like to see man...

i know your pain. Were you on a dynojet? They are tough on a turbo car to get everything right. My car showed boost starting at something crazy like 3800 and i have the little incons. My first pull dynod 100hp less than it was tuned for because of no load. I upped the controller and it came right back to where it was supposed to. Trucks are WORSE. Quicksilverado dyno'd like 400 rwhp but runs 119mph in a 4500# truck.....you do the math use the dyno to see your peaks so you can see where to shift and just use the mph vs weight calculators to figure out about what you make. I know its disappointing but it takes a little practice to get a auto/turbo car to show you the numbers.

Corrected566/479 18psi

Uncorrected474/401

Yeah the dyno guy is a mustang freak, but he's pretty cool. He asked if I was disappointed and I said I kind of expected it cuz the car always dyno's low. He said he could tell, but he kept trying to get the boost up and we finally did, but the numbers weren't great.

I dyno such as a superflow wich loads more and normally makes you have lower numbers would probably raise your numbers due to it actually putting a good load on the motor.I am still interested in what it made.
