Default Guys with "HUGE" FMIC come in..

I have been looking at pics of the mounting for the large FMICs. I am using a 24"x12"x4" FMIC and I am trying to decide how to mount it. From what I have seen, several people have cut the frame that the bumper support mounts to and recessed the IC in there. Well that is fine with me, but what about the nose cover mounting holes? Are you cutting those out as well?

Anyone have any pics of the bottom of the IC maybe where the nose cover plastic push pins go through?

Thanks,
Kevin

I just cut the bottom of the bumper out of the way, I made a filler peice that covered the bottom and sealed it to bottom of the IC but believe it or not it worked better with the bottom open. This is the ony pic I have you can see where its cut, I saved the piece and cut it along a mold line so I can reattach it down the road if I ditch the IC..

Thanks Kevin.. Is the bottom of the nose cover just hanging there? It is hard to tell in the pic. I can not see if you have it bolted to anything.

Its just hanging there, its pretty solid really since the heavy part is cut off. Some guys trim it and stick it into the space betwen the IC and the bracket.

Check the one out on the GMR TT thread. They're using a 28x12x3.5 FMIC.

So did you leave off the front bumper support completely?

Can you check again? There's no way that core is 24x12. Looks like 32x8 or more likely 30x6. Where's it from?
