Default SLP 50% more core radiator ???'s

I am interested in the Radiator that SLP sells for $250.

It is suspose to have 50% more cooling cores, which will help in cooling my Procharged LS1 SS.

OK i heard that all it is , is a LT1 F-body Radiator.

I want to know if this is true, because i can find one much cheaper than $250
Please help me out

From my observation most guys running a stock radiator and fans with their FI are not having any overheating problems. I'll also be running a stock rad and fans with the TT. Save that cash for something else. JMO

The radiator is a dual row core instead of a single row. I can't speak from expiereance on an aluminum block, but I can tell you that an iron block runs 15-20 degrees cooler with this radiator. Hope this helps.

thanks Rick

do you know if it fits right in , with no problems, rember i will be using the Procharger sheet metal fan shroud and 16" spal extreme fan so the SLP radiator must fit in just like stock so the fan shroud fits.
do you know if the LT1 F-bodies use this same radiator is there radiator a 2 -core?

i noticed that SLP does not offer a radiator fot the 93-97 LT1 camaros, thats why i think they already have this radiator.

No way there is 50% more cooling in the two radiators. I have them both here please check into this before you buy into a radiator I might agree to 25-30% more but not 50...........

Hi JimmyZZ28

Do you know if it is a 93-97 LT1 F-body radiator?
is it worth to upgrade and install it, is it 2 rows or just more rows of cors, is the SLP any thicker ? will i still be able to install the procharger fan shroud with no problems?

Also please count the cors of each radiator and let me know the difference
thank you very much

I have three original radiators here, one from a sixer, one from a normal z LS1 and one from an SLP LT1. The largest one I have is 1.375" thick. None of these are two rows......

It sure looks like an LT1 radiator core with LS1 tanks on it. I installed one in a friends car years ago (anyone remember Azam with the Incon kit?). The regular LT1 radiators have another port on them, for the oil cooler or something. You'd have to plug that off if you ran it in an LS1.

so why did some say the slp has 2 cors?
JimmyZZ28
i see you are Griffin Thermal products,
do you make or have a radiator for the LS1 F-body that will fit right in with no cutting or modding the car, and that i can still fit the procharger fan shroud in with no clearence issues,
please let me know
thank you

The SLP or Lt unit will work fine with the procharger fan and shroud assy. The shroud assy fits-rests on the edge of the tank to core flange. As for another maker I know a BECOOL is thicker and can cause problems with the inlet hat clearance. I think there was also a issue with the petcock, in close proximity to the hat as well. At least these are problems I saw on another, Procharger-fbody. It may depend on what inlet hat you have. IE alumn. or plastic
