Default 402 + P-1SC @ 6 psi Dyno results

Well, the short story is I hit my goal. 506.5 rwhp & 498.8 rwtq SAE!

The long story is on the 1st pass it was a little lean, and was at 510 rwhp & 516 rwtq. So we started richening things up at high rpms, leaning them out down low, and made it stay in 3rd gear. The 1st pass only lasted about 3 seconds.

We made 5-6 pulls, so it was pretty close when we got there. But it definitely runs out of fuel pump above ~ 5500 rpm. No matter what we did, the inj duty cycle rose & the a/f started to lean out. Nothing dangerous, I can make a pass or 2 at the track with it this way. But I will need to install a Racetronix, my 3.40 gears, and some better tires before I can get serious.

Bottom line I gained 121 rwhp & 95 rwtq @ 6 psi over the storker, 145 hp & 135 tq over the old motor. Oh, and at the motor it works out to 690 hp & 680 tq now with the 27% driveline loss I have. (or roughly + 200 in both categories) YEAH BABY!!!

But I may need to go with a smaller s/c pulley to run the 10.90 I'm aiming for. I figure this setup is good for low 11s. My impeller speed is only 52k now, so I can swap out my 3.85 for a 3.6 or 3.4.

Here is the dyno graph & the HP Tuner log chart....

Not bad, next time lock the converter and you will pick up ~30rwhp, can tell by the graph it isnt locked. You should be able to get in the 10s with that power even with an iron block if you can get the car to 60 foot well.

I have been thinking of using my p1 on a 408 and have gotten different opinions. Procharger told me on friday it would not get me the 500/500 I am looking for. Way to go! It can be done.

I think you can get more if you set it up right. Certainly a D series would have better results on a big cube motor, but with a good cam & heads, an 8 rib belt, etc etc should be doable.....

I went 11.0@123mph NA with 471rwhp, 4500 stall, and 4.10 gears, You could hit 10's if you can hook it.

I am building up a 402ci with AFR Heads & large Single Turbo. What would be the best cam to hold peak power @ 6500rpm ?

Really? Are you sure about that? ATI does that on stock engines routinely.

The fellow I spoke with told me I would have to really push the P1 to get 500. Explained to him I ony wanted 4-6# (for longevity reasons) and he said I wouldn't get the 500/500 I was looking for. Told me to upgrade to a D1. This would be in a truck, not a six speed.

Well I'm sorry about that, the information isn't really accurate. The D1SC would have been recommended for larger displacement to allow for future growth, but the P1SC would get it done.

I ran an 11.07 @ 125 my frist trip to the track. Not too shabby for a 4,000 lb car! Now to get a Ractronix pump & some stickier tires. And maybe a smaller pulley to make sure.

And I have Motron 60s with the ATI 240L/hr pump Bob, with the Aeromotive 1000 regulator.
