Building a Block thats turbo friendly, help

The plan is to build a new block because i recently cracked a piston on my
02 Z28. I want to buy an already assembled 347 short block that is setup for my STS Turbo kit. Im new to this so im not sure what I exactly need. Im thinking lq9 heads and a Z06 cam. What else will I need to build a strong motor, I want to do this just once so I could use advice on what I need and a shop I can get a good price for a Block thats assembled. Also what commpression should I have it set for. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

well if youre already getting the shortblock assembled and you have a choice of heads and cam,besides valvetrain theres not much else.If you wanted to know what specifically in a shortblock to get id do a stock crank,Callies rods and eithe Diamond or Weiseco dished pistons

I only ran 5 1/2 lbs of boost. My buddy tuned it for me without a wideband and he thought he riched it out plentty, but obviously didn't, cracked cyliner 7

The Z06 cam is fine. I wouldn't limit yourself by going with a large CC head.

I second the Z06 but if you want the most out of your setup look into the MTI Stealth II cam or the Lingenfelther GT7 both will give you a little more than the Z06. I actually bought both cams and I like the GT7 the best. I also went with LQ9 heads, my compression is around 8.7, let me know if I can answer any questions for you I just rebuilt mine about a month ago and did more research then I really wanted to.
