I had these same thoughts when I was going to twin turbo my 'Vette...what's the point if it won't hook up until 100+ mph? My solution...keep the 'Vette with just bolt-ons, and build the twin turbo LSx for the Syclone. Nothing like a powerglide and all wheel drive to stick over 1000hp to the street.

Do the sidewalls balloon out? I have 275 tires now, should I buy 275 or 295 Nittos? Thanks.

I have owned 3 S/C'ed cars ( I have one now, a 98 P-1SC procharged cobra - 460rwhp @ 11psi ) and 4 turbo cars, 3 supra's and an original 87 GN. I will never tire of boost - I remember early on when I had just bought my first supra (88 turbo, bone stock and 65Kmiles) I saw a good qoute in a guy's sig --> "And on the 8th day God raised the boost..." I laughed pretty hard when I read this. Once it's in your blood it is difficult to do without it - I have done at least 4 plans now on how I will turbo/nitrous this Z28 even though I told myself and everyone else that I was leaving this one "mostly stock" - yeeeeeeah right. I can see myself eventually building a twin turbo viper HT torque moster to take to the drags and outrun the 502 big block old skul guys......
I tell you there will never be enough horse power/blot on's/perf equipment on any vehicle to satisfy me completely - my wife has certainly given up on me as a lost cause. For Valentine's day one year she gave me an apillar gauge pod with boost/temp gauges for my Lightning - "...and the road goes on forever, and the party never ends......"

i dont 'carve' with my car but i do not have any stability problems with my 315 dr's at 15psi. (and no front sway)
however the adjustable font shocks help the front considerably.

those are my 315's on 9.5" rims... actually a 11" rim will give you less forward bite because it will tighten up the sidewall... will certainly roll a bit more through the corner.. but you will get aware of that pretty quick just switching from regular to drag radials.

275-40-17 Nitto Dr's here. Torque Ar, LCA's, 12-bolt, etc.
If I floor it in first, I will squeal as I take off, obviously spinning but taking off nonetheless.
Transition into second can be a bit rough, but after that just light chirps... No problems hooking here with 480+ rwhp.
I hook now like I did when I was on stock power with the stock 10-bolt, suspension, street tires, etc.

I ran the Nitto 275's last season. With the M6, I got it down to 1.8 60' so they did ok. I am swithing to the BFG 315's this year. However I do have to switch to 3:42 gears because my trap RPM's are too high with 3:73's. I have compromised a lot in terms of traction because I want to keep the car in the 'daily driven' catagory.

I was smoking the tires through 1st and 2nd until I got the MT 275's. Now I have NO traction problems at all. I don't drive my car but on weekends or good weather so I can't comment on the rain.

You can bet your bottom dollar I'm getting boosted before the end of the year. Wedding and honeymoon has to come first. Bittersweet trade-off.
You guys have been great. Thanks for spending the time. -Joshua
