Default LQ4 or LQ9

Which block would be better for a turbo setup. I have found several of both at some salvage yards in my area. Well if both motors are almost the same then it shouldn't really matter but I just wanted some other opinons from people that have built turbo motors before. Thanks for the help.

i think the only thing different is the pistons, with a different compression height. so if your putting good internals eith one will do the same job.

I want to use my 98 heads will either block work?

Same block on both engines, just different pistons, cam, heads. Tell them you'll take the sorry low compression LQ4 for a discount. hehe

Why would you want to use 98 heads?? 98 heads are the worst design of the LSX era... I would go with some later LS1 heads or maybe some worked Lq9 heads if you want to run FI.... Just my opinion...

my ported 98 castings made 400rwhp on my 346 A4, not going to find a factory casting for free that flow like they do. Plus got 918 springs and ferra valves in em.
