Single T-76. Full A/C... I'm trying to make a very mild-mannered 'vert with insane power in the style of Cablebandit and some others... Not too common.

Have you figured out the specs of the T-76 your going to be using? I'm planning a similar build up and I'm just curious if you've planned that far ahead yet.

I had studied the compressor map of the PT-76GTS very closely but I am getting a really good deal on a T-76GTQ. Either way, I'm upgrading my MPT-70.

I plan to research this turbo alot more. Right now, I know the Turbonetics turbo peaks out at less peak HP... It's spool is supposed to be a bit quicker. Anyone that knows more about this turbo, please feel free to chime in.

The price and wait time of a PT-76GTS are both considerable. I've had no luck finding an even remotely inexpensive one. I love its flow characteristics and efficiency numbers when paired with the 346, but I know I'd really never wind it up with race gas... You have a badass turbo, Frost.

Also, I have not stopped thinking about the prototype dual-disk Specs since they were mentioned... Anybody heard something?

They were discussed here, on the Forced Induction forum:

I here ya steve got my 408 together. but having a kid has taking alot of my free time to get my PTK on. I am running 8.5 CR 408 with Patriot stg3 72cc heads plus some other goodies. I am happy with the z06 cam also. Very streetable. also using a 76gts. I have all the parts just no time to install debating on outsourcing work. So hows your car frost. they get that motor issue fixed?

You see, SuperDaveZ, he thinks very far ahead and is very thoughtful.

Glad you got the motor thing worked out and you're finally going to get to enjoy that kit. I reseached it for a while before I bought (and of coarse I had a couple of different TTI kits) and for the price difference it was really a no brainer. Eveybody ALWAYS wants more so it's go big or go home!!

Sticking with a stock cubed motor is definatly a good idea. FWIW I basically forced my buddy to run a 76GTS on his old 1996 PTK cobra (it's old becasue the dumbass sold it) instead of the GT-40 that came standard. At first he though it was too big (spooled around 3800), but I told him to keep The 76 and he will be glad he did.

Well I just heard that car ran a 10.26 at 137mph on it first good pass with sticky tires. My buddy tried to run it in SA on street tires and could only manage a 12.6 at 116 in and out of the throttle. The guy who bought it ran a 13 something on street tires the first week and the 10.26 one week later with bfg's. This was running 16psi on a forged bottom end, stock heads, cam intake, good tune and 60lb injectors. Last I heard the new owner had run a best of 10.1 @143 (18psi) and busted an axle on the next pass.

Just goes to show T-4 turbos love small motors (obviously I'm refering to V-8's).

On topic, I never had a problem with my spec 3 clutch, of course that was only running around 550rwhp. The cobra is also running a spec 3.

Later,
Dave

Did you end up keeping your 76GTS? It will flow more on the exhaust side than the Turbonetics Q-trim and probably be better for your kickass motor!!

UPDATE:

Okay, someone really made it easy for me to decide... In fact, I even already have it... From a non-sponsor, though.

Shiny, huh? This will get me max pump gas with good spool (~700 rwhp) I hope.

Next order of business... I'll update later.
