Default First Track Day For The Turbo Formy

well it ran 8.5@ 99mph in the 1/8th with a 2.6 60. it only ran a 12.5 in the 1/4 @114. something broke, thinking its in the valve train. its ticking and backfiring at idle but still has "power". no smoking or anything just a lot of ticking. pulled hard in the 1/8 then fell off...big time. that was the only pass i got to make. then packed it up and came home. it was fun but it sucked.

That sucks, you get all excited to go out to the track and something breaks. Had that happen to me before in my old 95 eclipse GST. That ****** broke all the time. Hope you get everything fixed and update us with some new times when you get them.

Sounds like a valve spring, pushrod or so. If it backfires bad,we've burnt exhaust valves but that would take alot more boost.

A broken piston ussually blows alot of smoke.I would pull the valve covers and check the springs/valvetrain. -also,don't drive it till you find the problem.

Kaos, you running stock springs? I'd change them for sure.

99 in the 1/8th is high 10 second potential.

918's. they have less than 1k miles on them. i dont think its a spring. but it could be. going to pull the covers tommorow. i hope its just some push rods or something. high 10s would be great. i think it can go over 100 with a better 60. im tellin ya it looks like it died off of the line then takes off like a rocket

it could be a broken spring even still...Especially if you have a high lift cam...Great numbers though...Can't wait to see you run a full pass....

I think with an aggressive launch and traction you'll hit over 100mph in the 1/8th very easily. Probably 103-105.
