not yet. the way i work i have to wait on a stretch. i work midnights so its hard to say. may try to get them off tommorow before i go to work. its doable. but i will start a new thread

If you pull the plug wire on #7,if it's a rod bearing in that cylinder,the knock should lessen

I had a lifter let go on the engine dyno at W2W with the 403 a while back, doesn't happen a lot...but it does happen. If I recall correctly the motor was making around 800fwhp when this happened. However, I don't think that the failure was really a function of the power...I think the lifter took a beating when the Yella Terras were going bad. New lifters and J2K rockers fixed the problem. I can't comment on the sound it made, since I wasn't there.

My advice would be to pull the head and take a look. I doubt that it is going to end up being a lifter problem though. Based on what you have found so far it sounds like rings at the least and piston at the worst.

Word of advice though, there are very very few people that have totally trouble-free FI setups. I know one person that just seemed to be blessed and everything he did made the car faster and he never had a problem...and he beat on the car, ended up selling it for a great price. The rest of us are doomed to have issues like this. Take it in stride and make it stronger for the next time.

pulled plug wire and knock didnt lessen, heads comin off today so i will know more about it.
