Default W2w Shortblock....

i am now the proud owner of a w2w 9.3-1 compression shortblock. just got off the phone with kevin and as soon as i get some time i will be goin to pick it up. looking at getting a z06 cam and prc 6l heads. i think that should take care of me. hope to have the car back on the road within a month think its doable?

Congrats, talk about a stout product. Remember to give them your engine covers to install on the new engine

congrats but i wouldnt get a z06 cam unless its free, moneys better spent on a real cam like a LPE GT2-3 cam or something like a teens/20's,itll make more power and carry the power longer than that cam would.

It'd probably take them 15 minutes to put those on.

I'd look into something like the Speed Inc. 225/225 cam.

Z06 cam is fine. I went with the LPE GT2-3 cam which is similar to a Z06 cam (little more lift). If the motor W2W motor you're talking about is the one from their recent GP I wouldn't boost it. Per W2W's comments in the GP thread those motors were not built for boost.

This is not accurate. They are not built for high boost, but 15 psi will be fine for the 347. As always, everything lies in the tuning

i dont think i can go wrong with that SB. im still on stock fuel lines and dont have any plans on changing them as of now. figure they are only good for 600 or so rwhp. kp's new motor is 9.5 to 1 and he isnt pushing real high boost. no more than 15 i bet. i have spoken with them and they assure me that for no more than 15psi i will be just fine and for now thats all i want. its a STRONG sb from piston to crank you cant beat it. if i ever decide to go back to all motor i just put a 59cc head or something and have a 347 with 11-1 compression and run that all day long. i feel good with my purchase

My last motor had off the shelf Wiseco flat top pistons and rings (stock connecting rods too) and went nearly 200 passes last year at 12-14psi and is still running fine in a head cam car today. No special 'boost' parts at all.

My new motor is 9.5:1 with JE pistons and speed pro rings, no special 'boost' parts either and I will put 15-16psi in it later in the year. If you rattle it a lot you will kill it, even the good parts will melt down if your tune is way off..

Awesome choice (hehe) I bought a W2W 347 from the "March Special" too.

I'll be boosting mine with ~9psi and a 75 shot on top, Kevin says it will take it no problem as long as the tune is there.

I'm swapping to the Z06 cam too, should pass emissions no problem and make good power with the boost.

Post up some pics of yours asap so I can see what mine looks like ! I can't wait !

Congrats

I would also stick with the Z06 cam, it works great in a turbo app and driveability/tunability is awesome.

Cheers,
Chris
