Default WILL THIS REAR MOUNT work???

ok ive done alottttta research and alotta pple lately have been talkin me out of my "rear mount" setup b/c every1 says its gay? bla bla i shoulda gone with heads/cam/spray u know the deal...i kinda bought the stuff i have on impulse due to a friend of mines lol but w/e i have most of the parts already and wana see what potential this might have b/c all ls1's i see or have seen are H/C and spray, yes they're fast but i was plannin on doin somethin alil different, i just wana have something decently fast that is reliable, so with that said...

my question is will this work at lets say 5-8psi (to be conservative) and what numbers(times/rwhp?) should i get more or less? i will be upgrading heads/cam/valvetrain in the somewhat near future so....

REAR mount turbo setup is as follows:
*master power turbo, compessor side is .70..exhaust side is .81
*tial 38mm wastegate(spring setup for 4.3psi right now)
*greddy type-s bov
*braided oil lines for feed/return
*mocal diff/oil pump for the return to my oil pan
*check valve for feed line so oil wont pool in the turbo when engine is off
*fuel pump already replaced, stock replacement walbro 255(racetronix)
*custom piping/filter/and shield for weather..and 2 1/4" piping for the intake charge
*for sure 42 lbs injectors if i go change the 4.3psi spring for something bigger
* and yes i know TUNING is the most important thing overall...
** im sure im missing something else but for now these are the major components...

ok give me ur thoughts, concerns, ideas, anything and everything to help me make up my mind

Okay, well they can call it gay... but I made one and it became the talk of the local lot...why? Easy bolt on kit...made 600 RW at 7 lbs and maxed the 43 lb injector. Granted there are two turbos back there and I have a 409...
I'll be honest, the kit will work, but if your just gonna be looking for 100 Hp I think you should consider finding a used STS.. why? The wiring harness makes life easy, as does the quality oil pump / built ilow pressure alarm etc.
However, sounds like you have the ability an knowledge, I bet you can make it work.,.. and best of all, you did it. So I say go for it if you have some fab ability and let me know if I can help at all.

Reliability ends if the oil system fails..remember that.

ok well lets say my goal is 500rwhp and somwhere in the 11's with nice mph...i think its a decent goal...my only fear is gaining JUST 50rwhp or less..i hope my kit will make at least 100 rwhp on top of what i got.. and the used sts is kinda outta the question because all ive just desctibed has run me about $1400 more or less... and yea im gona have to fab. the intake pipes, welding, and all that, no biggie

The harness is to activate the oil pumps. Mine has dual speed, and is also boost referenced. It also just activates the pumps when the fuel pump is on (spliced into said wire in cpu). It also sounds an alarm in the event the low pressure switch is activated.

You will make more than 50 HP.

Are you intercooled? Prob not...thats ok for low boost. 11's may be hard with what your working with. Cant expect a great 60 foot and that hurts the 1320.

BTW, no need for braided return lines... and also...where are you returning the oil to?

On the STS it returns to an oil cap that has a hole tapped into it for the return.

yea i was planning on returning to the pan close to the filter ...i like it that way alil better...i ran the return line to the pan with my friends vortech kit so i have all the taps, fitting sizes and stuff

**and yes i do wanna run an intercooler behind the front license plate where the bird is...i jus wanna get it on and running first on the 4psi the wastegate came with...and then put on the intercooler when i up the boost, upgrade injectors, etc etc

**ok lets say i dont run the dual speed system/hi-low for the return oil pump, i jus run the pump with a relay so it can turn on and off with the ignition, that would work too wouldnt it?..i know the 2 speed hi low deal would be ideal but i duno how easy and cheap that switch would be to get, or how necessary it is overall....and yea i know u told me oil is the life of the system..but dam lol

You'll be fine with the switch. Done is better than perfect. You will make more than 100HP.

Tapping. I am the market to tapping the driverside VC and putting a breather on the cap area to vent crankcase pressure(boosting over 10lbs).

Fenix99 - I just semi-recently built my own rear-mount Master Power T70 turbo with T4 flange (.68 and .70). I run my intercooler right in front of the air dam facing down so air picked up by it will be forced through it then through the radiator. I'm running a Mocal diff. pump off a relay, like you said you wanted to, with the other mods in my sig. I removed the oil level sensor and installed a -10an (i think it was something like 20mm) 90º fitting, works GREAT!

Running a 13.30 @ 106.xx, you should be at least 115+ if that's what you're worried about, and like others have said, with that ET, your 60' times aren't the best, so get a good set of drag radials like the MT ET street radials, and a stall higher than stock (our cars are heavy, and higher rpm + load = boost) to get the turbo spooled up. You should be fine, just don't beat on it with those stock injectors, trust me... Let me know if I can help you with anything.

thanks 67firebird you just basically kept my turbo hopes alive...i was really starting to doubt this whole custom rear mount crap lol.. doubting myself mostly but now that i see someone with the same turbo and setup basically ill go ahead and finish what i started...

the only big question i have is about the oil pump/system...all these pple talkin about running it with a switch for high/low speeds like the STS...and the pcv system what the hell do i do with that? what do i have to modify to boost the car?
