Default Progress is made, track update...

Well I decided i'd take out the 'bird today since the weather was nice. I also needed to make some good WOT passes to get my WOT part of my tune squared away.

I was going to run the ET drags and skinnies but got lazy and left the street tires on...plus I didn't want to be embarrassed if I didn't get out of the 13's
Street tires are Falken Ziex 275-45-17's all around.

First pass, barely stalled up
13.29@105 on a 2.16 60ft.

Second pass, stalled up a bit more, spun out of the hole and hit the 1-2 limiter...tranny getting upset
12.82@108.37 on a 2.20 60ft

Third pass, stalled up to 1800-2000, hit the 1-2 and 2-3 limiter, tranny now pissed
12.730@115.787!!! 2.13 60ft

Not bad considering that the tranny is sucking bad(come on ROCK ON, I need my new stage 4 tranny already!!)
Going from a s/c'ed car to a turbo car is really different and I really have to learn how to drive the car all over again.

So I have to do 5 things now and i'm sure i'll be making some good progress from here on out.

1) switch out the 3.73's to 3.23's car really doesn't come out loaded with the 3.73's
2) Get the new tranny in there
3) finish up my tune, still going a bit rich on the topend, 10.80's WOT from the 1/8 to the traps...car gets a bit of KR from going so rich.
4) keep working on where to stall it up to and learn what the turbo likes.
5) Get the meth kit working, wasn't able to run race gas today since I had a full tank of gas...all runs were on 91 pump.

Oh yeah, I couldn't get out of the 13's on my first track outing, and that was with my 28in ET drags and skinnies....slowly but surely progress is being made...plus i've never ran into the 12's on street tires too...which at our track impresses me some

Temp 70 degs, don't know what the DA is yet. *DA 7517ft*

At least it went faster instead of slower, 116 isnt bad. 2 step + trans brake = good turbo launch

Thanks bud, lets hope its sooner than later I was overfreakinwhelmed just to run a 12 and especially with the MPH going back up to the 100teens...It was interesting to do it on regular street tires. Now I regret not putting the ET drags on

KP, I hope harlan gets those new 2 steps out soon...but then I might need to upgrade the rear then

Yep its nice that it went faster than last time, but its still far from where I want it to be.

89, 12psi our altitude is a time/power killer. I'd bump up the boost if I had the meth kit working or race gas in the tank.

When everything is right it should light up those street tires about 300' out

That mph would be good for mid 11s with a low 1.6 60 foot, getting the car to 60' hard will be your biggest challenge. 10.8:1 a/f is costing power also. I would have put a TH400 with a brake and a 3.23 in there

Kp, stuck with a built 4L60E, since this stocker lasted me so long and I drive the car everyday to work and back, I made the decision to stick with a built 4L60E. Maybe next season i'll step up to a TH400 and a brake. 3.23's are really going in now...she does really start to haul until a bit before half track Yeah I was going 11.5-6's with that MPH when I was procharged.
10.80 a/f is not only costing me power buts making the car see some KR up top, driving my timing down even lower. I don't know why my car is so sensitive to anything under 11.3 a/f wise..anything lower and KR pops up bad. I wanted to chop the tune down even more but the tranny was already doing funny stuff and I had to drive the car home so we called it a day.

Krazy, nope sticking to the 4L60E for reasons mentioned above.

Anarchy, she's had this pontentil for waaaaaaaaayyy to long Damn car needs to just do it already...i'm gonna fire the guy who does all the work to this thing

I ended up up shutting my knock sensors off, they worked OK last year but I put poly mounts in the car and a different balancer and they were going off like crazy, even with 10 degrees of timing and 104 gas. So now when in PE they no longer work, just part throttle..

You have to get the boost up at the line. otherwise it will crawl the first 200 feet. On the street it doesnt feel so bad but off the line at the dragstrip you can really feel the lag

Too scared to shut em down. I'll just keep adjusting till my WOT a/f at 65-6800 is around 11.6-7 a/f wise. Should take about two more updates and i'll be there.
And your right on with the crawling, my bro noticed that too from the sidelines. Gears and a two step out to help that. I can also lower my timing in the midrange some more to get that turbo spinning a lil sooner.

I'm thinking of dumping my DP right past the K member for track days, ATP has the boost actuated cut out that looks like it'll do what I want. That should help a lil or just take the cat back off and run a bullet muf, and dump it before the axle.

Good thing it's on the up and up. How much longer until your new transmission comes in? Not that much longer right?

I wonder if you can put in a proportioning valve to lock up the rears better get up on the footbrake more.

Sup Kyle How is the newly married man? Can't wait till my day comes...Jen has been shopping for wedding dresses

Tranny should be here shortly, from what i've been told they were doing the front pump and valve body and then they'd dyno it and ship it...been a week since that last update tho

Frank, I'm adding in the line loc, and I'll dump all the old brake fluid, add new stuff in and bleed them. Should be able to hold it better then...this fluid is the original stuff

I thought you added fuel as a way of attacking KR along with timing reduction. I would think leaner would allow for more KR.

It goes both ways, too much fuel and you'll get knock, too lil fuel and you'll get knock. Any time the car dips into very low 11's and 10 a/f wise its KR city..well nothing over 5 degs of KR. Once I lean it out to 11.4-11.7 its golden...no KR. Don't know why my car is so sensitive to running too rich. Timing is now 14 degs WOT.
