i think it depends on what kinda boost your looking to run,the lower the psi with a larger gate the more creep ull get

The better question is, "is X wastegate big enough to TONE DOWN the power to where I want it." Wastegates ... waste .. boost, not help create it. They are there to bleed off the pressure that your turbocharger would otherwise use as motivation to spin faster and make more boost

Of course, there's only, oh, every other component in the system to also consider Turbocharger configuration/size/etc., engine displacement, flow capability, exhaust system configuration, etc. etc. etc.

In general, 60mm should be sufficient to control nearly anything you'll throw at it (within reason).

It really depends on alot of things...A big turbo that you want to run very low boost takes a bigger wastegate than running higher boost. If the wastegate is to small you will get boost creep. When we run say a 76gts on the street and run lower boost we run tial 44 or 46. no problems with creep.
You really need to give some details about your combination but yes 60 is big!

well i'm gonna run a 76gts, with a forged 346ci, afr heads, a nice mild turbo cam. This will be a front mounted turbo set up.

I think a 60mm is overkill, if you can get it for a good price go for it otherwise you should be just fine with a ~40mm(unless you are wanting to run less than 10psi, etc).

60 is def. overkill. If its a great price buy it sell it and it will pay for a 44-46. If not just get a 44.

The Turbosmart 48mm progate will do the job and comes with all the springs and flanges. Hard to beat....
