if the turbo is located right behind the radiator it will make it run really hot really fast

If it overheats while driving at good speeds you have problems. The air damn has to be on the car OR you need the front of the car opened up alot.If that doesn't work you have a coolant system or engine problem.

There are quite a few additional things that you can do for cooling. A lot of people have had good luck with the Evan's Cooling pump, seing a 10-15* drop in temps using water and not their special coolant.

I would also look into a bigger radiator. I have the LGM radiator on my car and it sits at 176* at idle. I also have the Evan's pump set to go on the car when I get the motorplate situation figured out. Also, I am currently using the oil cooler in the radiator as my trans cooler, although I have a nice B&M unit ready to go on...just need to find a nice place to mount it!

Is there any way you can run a big fan Behind the radiator? The way the 4th gens are made they just dont always cool good with anything on the front side of them.

Did you re-route any of the hoses? They have to be below the fill on the radiator or otherwise you'll never get it full.

Since i have pushers too... i have found out a few things the hard way:

No air dam will make a HUGE difference on our cars. Its the only way the radiator gets air.
Ditto... this will help tremendously when the car is moving, it was the difference in overheating and not for me.

How man CFM's are those fans? I have two of the best SPALS made on the car... like 1700cfm per, (they are also designed to be pushers, not just reversed pullers.) The stock fan set-up was VERY good, i think they moved like 3400-3600cfm...plus they were pulling so you are always getting close to the full amount through the rad.
If you are still running a/c, make sure you have a top radiator cover on and seal up the area between the condensor and rad...pushed air leaks out of here. This made a big difference for me too.
I am also running a turbo blanket, helped quite a bit.

And as others said, definitely get your fans to come on sooner.

FWIW Is the T-stat in correctly?

his car still has the airdamn in place i think he is confused on what you guys are calling the airdamn... now he doesnot have the upper radiator support AKA lower airbox in place so air can flow up and over the rad.. i think the puller might help some.. but he needs an LT1 style peice for up top..

if you have a 160 stat does it always open at 160...i thought you needed a tune to tell the stat to open up and maybe you never got one....?

i could be wrong but just something i remember hearing so now your car is just heating up to stock temps...

Tstat is a mechanical device...no tuning required.

1) need air dam.
2) need to program both fans to come on like someone already else suggested. I run stock radiator, and my fans run 80% of the time.

i can see the airdam helping alot when your moving but i dont see it making a diff. at idle if your getting too hot sitting there.

u should get one of those t-stats, i think there called "FailSafe" if they fail they fail in the open position, instead of failing in the closed position, then your really gonna run hot. just a thought.

your air dam helps at idle and driving....

it not only forces air into your rad while driving but it helps limit your hot engine air form being sucked back up in a constant loop.....
