Default Manifolds for MKIII Supra LM7 swap

I'm interested in this manifold discussion for turbo location- I've been motor shopping & have pretty much decided on a 5.3 for the Supra, and to make it a TT setup, 8-10 PSI with a FM IC. There are a bunch of low (<40K) mileage 5.3 motors here in FL at junkyards for around $500-600. I just got the aftermarket LS1/LS6 book, and they gave a dyno illustration of a stock 4.8 at 8 PSI making like 500 FWHP w/ a 67mm single turbo, 80 PSI fuel, and 42# injectors! Seems way too high to me.

I'm attaching a link to a page with some pics of a MKIII Supra & a home built twin turbo Gen I V8. This guy squeezed in a T3 turbo on each side of the motor w/ home made headers. Since I don't have an engine YET, I can't size up how things wil go together. It is good to know there are many manifold choices. Depending on the motor offset once installed, I may be able to use the FWD piping & run a single turbo.

I like the idea of running two smaller turbos on the underside of the motor, of course like any other project I'm sure space will be at a premium. I have to have AC BTW. I don't think there will be room to front mount it as I've seen done with the reversed truck manifolds.

My turbo calc program (somewhat outdated) shows two T25-70 or T04E-50 units as a match for this setup.

Why don't you buy a cheap plastic (i think) Gen III replica for test fitting?

Would there be an issue if one manifold flowed more than the other? It would suck to find out that these new manifolds were restrictive and limiting performance, or vice versa, flowing better than truck manifolds.

I've thought about that- I was planning to throw a big block in there initially- then I found out the engine bay is shorter than the Datsun Z car. It is hard to justify $375 + accessories + shipping for a replica when the real thing is $500 + no shipping.

Default FWD 5.3 exhaust parts

This stuff being so new is big $. The x-over pipe is $138 discounted from a GM vendor online and each manifold is $155. I found some used manifolds on car-part.com, but still $75 each. Time to do some power shopping at a W-body forum .

Blwn1-the crossover is to cut the flanges off, since they look to be unique to this manifold only. I got my manifolds for $126 thru a dealer.

Reject - check out our single kit. All set up ready to go, you buy the manifolds and turbo and bolt it on.

Pics, pics, pics. I would seriously consider buying your kit if I could see what it looks like. I don't care how raw the material is. I'm going to fab mine up but time is the hardest thing to come by for me.

snketr - I might....just might post up some pics either late tonight or tomorrow of the HUGE single 80mm kit that we're finishing up the hot side right now. We're very busy today so I'll try to get them up when I can snap a few pics, download them and post. Thanks for considering us.
