That cam is not really suited for being a blower camshaft. The Lingenfelter GT2-3 cam would be a better choice. Bob

I had my D1SC installed by EPP. I already had a 224/224 114 cam in the car at the time. I put down 460/440 on there Mustang dyno. That is through an auto. Not the best FI cam but it works. It all boils down to what you want overall. I just replaced mine with a GT2-3 but I am still in the process putting the car back together.

I've got a Lunati 236/236 112+2 that would be crappy in a Procharged motor, but it sounds so brutal right now N/A, I can only imagine it with that D1 blower whine.

I know I'll have to change the cam later this year, but I wish I could just run it as-is.

My tranny (4L60E) was good to almost 500 RWHP. But, you never know.

Of course, the 422 killed it the first couple runs.

Keep us updated on how it works out for you. I am still waiting to install the same.

I think that cam work work fine with a blower, especially a centirfugal. I'm running a solid roller 230/236, 112lsa on my Vortech-blown 383, and it is running great. I max out the blower at 7.5#, but that's because it's not a big enough blower. Your cam doesn't have a lot of overlap and should be a good combo of on and off boost.

thanks guys. i know you cant go wrong with a 224/224 cam. hey if should i go 3200 or 3600 stall? and what gears 3.42 or 3.73.. eventually to match a procharger running 6-8lbs..

Check out the Comp custom grind that we use and sell in the store area of my website. This camshaft is a thumper and we have found this camshaft to work exceptionally well with the ATI ProChargers, and it is the camshaft I will be installing in my own Z28. Bob

I would get the bigger stall. Only because you will want more down the road. Trust me, been there. Just be sure to get a FI friendly stall.

228/232-113 isn't very far from 224/230-114. I bet the difference is less than 5 hp on the dyno and the 224 cam may be the loser. The 224 cam has 5 deg less overlap, the intake valve closes 1 deg earlier, and the exhaust valve opens at the same time. The 228 cam only has 4 deg of overlap which really isn't that bad.

so which cam would you guys suggest? which brand stall is FI friendly? i wonder what the performance would be just blower only vs. blower, mild cam, and stall? remember im not trying to rip 10's seconds and all..lol. hey anybody know a ballpark estimate hp i would be making on an auto with all bolt ons minus the stall and cam? pushing bout 7 psi?

Pick any cam you like that has less than 5 deg overlap and at least the same exhaust duration as intake. Choose an intake duration that gets you the rpm range you want and keep in mind that a centrifugal supercharger adds about 500 rpm to the peak hp and torque.

As for stalls, with 700 fwhp, the converter will stall roughly 1000 rpm higher than rated. The Vigilante converters I know are tough, but get pretty loose when you really start putting power to them.
