Default Victor Jr.

I have decided to move up from a ls6 to a Victor Jr. intake on the T88 turbo 391 LS2 after doing some research. I think it would be beneficial. I've also read that some people have had some trouble. Where is the best place to get one? I would like an elbow that wouldn't require any hod modifying or milling.. I read that Tiago used Speed inc. fuel rails instead of the edelbrock ones. How much more beneficial would this be? I know that the Speed Inc. ones are a little larger.. How well would it work? ANy other input? THANKS

the speed inc rails are 1/2" ID (maybe even 5/8") while the edelbrok were 3/8", so I kept my speed inc rails on it, just took a couple of custom brackets

Tiago did you have to cut the cowl? I'd like to run one of those single plane intakes for the cool factor but I don't want to have to cut anything.

well.. you were my original inspiration for the victor Jr... If I bought just the victor jr. intake, which one should I get for my engine? Where'd you get yours from. I'll probably get an elbow from nitro dave(since there is no modding required).. If I went with speed inc rails.. COuld you possible make some brackets for me? and what inkectors are you running? I read that they were a PAIN for you to put in..

I just measured my Edelbrock fuel rails. They are indeed 1/2" inner diameter, not 3/8". The rails are threaded for -8 fittings, so I cannot imagine a flow restriction problem even with the largest injectors. The brackets that come with the kit work fine. You could spend a lot more for custom rails and brackets though if you wanted the "look".

The Edelbrock rails are fine for 1400rwhp.So why not use what fit's easilly The intake will work great.

im building my home made kit soon using a t70 turbo around 7 psi daily driver.how much more power will i gain with the edelbrock over an ls6 manifold?i mean i have to buy the ls6 so if the edelbrock offers a power gain over the ls6 then i'll just buy the edelbrock

Slowhawk,

That's a cool setup you have there. Will that fit under a C5 hood? I'm looking at a cowl hood with a 3'' rise to it, I'm sure that should clear the setup you have. I may go this route also so please keep me in the loop as to how it's work out for you.

Thanks,
Dave

Looks good that fitting for the brake booster is going to be tight although it is the same place I am mounting my regulator etc...

The LS6 intake has worked nicely with turbo applications. I have a customer with twin 60's and the LS6 intake that makes wicked power in his buggy. My thinking is that it might even be superior to the Victor Jr. in a lower boost, under 800 horsepower situation. The longer runner length may work to the advantage of quick response. Again, cam selection and how the parts work with each other determines a lot of the outcome. After saying all of that, I bought the Victor Jr. Costs less and is so easy to adapt to different applications - looks good on there too.

The victor jr doesn't have the problem of making #7 lean either, does it? That would be the biggest benefit to me. A little more "insurance"

Thats the same reason Im planning on using one. No question to #7 getting the same amount of air as the rest of the cylinders with the victor jr.

I believe Nitro Dave makes some that won't require modding.. Correct me if I am wrong.
