Sts - Wrapped Exhaust -- Inside!!!!!
Re: Wrapped my exhuast today. Big difference. The turbo begins to spool early and it seems to pull harder. Hardest part was wrapping the exhuast - took me about 2 hours and 2 rolls of 2" x 50' header/exhuast wrap.
Anyone know the difference between ceramic coating and header wrap?
I know people usually don't ceramic coating normal exhaust parts, but in the case of a front mounted turbo kit it would be intrested to know.

Looks like I need to pick some wrap up before my car goes back together. I would like to feel the before and after effects, but it will be sooo much easier with the exhaust off the car I would think.
Well, you guys convensed me 
I just bought a 50' roll of wrap off ebay and some SS zip ties ($32). I all ready have most of a 50' roll, so I should be good 
Also going to take the MP T-70 I was trying off, and put the T-60 back on. Just not enough CI to spooled the 70 fast enough, but once it spools (4200 in 1st), look out!! ha,ha

Verdad Gallardo It's already got the .68 A/R. Same with the 60. I think it just a little to much for the 4.8. I was hoping that with the bigger compressor, it would spool faster then the 60, but that's not the case, and I get about 1.5-2 psi boost spike on the shift with this turbo. Only got maybe 1 psi with the 60. The 60 spool's quicker and IAT are still nice a cool with the intercooler even at 12 lbs. (never seen anything over 120*) Should spool even quicker with the pipes wrapped. This 60 does have a more aggressive turbine wheel then stock 60's. I think that's most of the difference. Don't know exactly what it is, I bought it to replace the damaged one that came on the turbo when I bought it. It was supposed to be a stock one, but when I got it, it's larger on the OD and a more aggressive on the fin profile. I have pics if you want to see it.
Edit, Oh, and I can't sell it, it's technically not mine I was borrowing it from another project that I'm going to do for a buddy. (406 SB '69 Camaro)

In my opinion wraping your exhaust will definitly help spool that turbo faster but, I also think by wraping up that pipe is going to self destruct it alot faster than not wraping it. just my 2 cents.
I just recieved an exhaust wrap kit from summit, = 2 rolls of 2x50' and i got 2 cans of black silicone spray that lenghthens the life of the pipe/tape. im going to coat the exhaust pipe first then wrap it and spray over the wrap a second coat. i might even cover the wrap with some aluminum HVAC tape for even more water resistance.

I am probably going to do the samething and going to order my parts today but I want to take the cat off and put a fake one up there....of course

about 2-3 weeks ago there was a thread about wrapping your exhaust on an STS car to get more hot exhaust to the turbo, i was one of the people who did not grasp the concept that hotter exhaust would make a difference. I WAS WRONG!!! i wrapped my exhaust last night and my car is totally different now, it boosts much quicker and pulls harder, i cant wait until i get it to the track to verify what my butt tells me.
