Auto or Manual
Edit: maybe I was dropped too many times too cuz I put 'on' for 'as'
I was as torn as you were on this decision, I now think 6spd + turbo is a bad combo, funny how perceptions change with some experience.
Think of it this way, whats more fun, playing with your stick or winning? While we all know how much fun it is to play with our sticks it's just that, playing, it doesn't really count. When you win it counts, you get a much greater satisfaction. We all know that doing it ourselves isn't as fun as when it's done for us, so the auto wins!
i personally like to think me being in the car as opposed to anyone with at least one foot has something to do with how well it runs.

ALSO... did anyone forget about Tosto??? Look at his SS, and its a manual... just my .02
I love my Glide.... Id say give carl Rossler a call and see what he thinks for your setup.
BTW a TH210 is a TH400!!!!!!! it just has a 2.10 1st gear.

Im the same way. If I wanted a consistant drag car, auto would have gone in without second thinking it.
But, I figure if I want a chance at keeping up, all I have to do is throw my slicks on, smoke the tires, and let me 2 step do all the work.
My car was built for enjoyment and the occasional race here and there.
As far as clutches are concerned, I had my twin disk from mcleod blow up after only 2k miles, but after 8 months or so of having the car (only really driving it for 3-4 months) it blew up and they warrantied it without any cost except for shipping.
Clutches should last at least 10-15k miles or so under the kind of abuse we put it under (granted you dont launch on it every chance you get).
So if you get a mcleod for example, and worst case scenario you have to have it rebuilt every year, thats only 300 bucks worst case...
My tranny has held up wonderfully so far, no issues at all.
Thats my input and im stickin to it.

And anyone who gives the gas mileage argument for staying with a standard is feeding you bullshit. If you have the money to spend on a 1000 RWHP capable motor and turbo setup, and can spend 2000 dollars extra on a standard over an automatic, who gives a **** how much you spend on gas. Why don't you go with a stick, and I'm sure the 2 dollars a day you save in gas might make the investment worthwhile in about 4 years when you get your money back from it
I would say it's pretty awesome. The 800-1000rwhp cars I've driven and rode in have all been perfectly streetable.
The gas mileage is an added bonus, I'm glad my car was knocking down 20mpg going to north carolina and back, not only for the savings in money but also for more range between fuel stops.
