Your car is one more to add to the list that I have seen break axles, rears, tranny's and wheel studs etc. when they swap to MT DR's from slicks or DOT slicks. Those tires bite hard and don't wrinkle as much and cushion the blow like bias ply's do. They often cut quicker 60's as well.
Glad you guys and the car are ok. Another 5 mph faster and your quarter panel may be re-shapped

So how much does the turbo have left in it after the 150mph pass?
Nice car btw, I have been watching this for a while now. Any more videos yet?

That car should trap 155-160 with the boost up higher and well into the 8's. Which should be around 1100-1200rwhp through that auto tranny.

It probably would have been 155 or damn close as it was. On the limiter most of the way past the first MPH light if not before it.

12-bolt or 9 inch? If you have a spool and a 12-bolt, the lowest you can go is 3.73.

You must have had a 3 series carrier...most 12-bolts (especially mosers) come with 4-series carriers and there is not enough room for the pinion on anything lower than 3.73. You can switch to a 3-series and give it more room but that's more than just a simple gear swap at that point.

Do you know what carrier you have Kyle? I have a 4-series in mine which means 3.73 is as low as I can go...

Were they spools? It's the carrier that makes the difference.

New axles with 5/8 studs have been ordered. Thanks for those Joe.
Only downside is the 2 week wait.

Ill post a couple pic's tomorrow.
Kyle

WOW, that picture brings back memories. except this was AT the track. it really does make you think. launched and they all broke. thank god it wasn't 50 ft further. These were 7/16" ARP studs in the moser 9". Glad to see you are safe! I had my axles drilled out to fit 1/2" studs, but shoulda done the 5/8" like you guys. This was only a 460rwhp 6speed car. 6500 clutch dumps though

What ever she will take.....
Like Harlan stated that last pass had 155 or so in it.... bouncing off the rev lim the last 150ft or so....... and thats at 20 psi.
Harlan and JZ seam to think this turbo is good for 6 or so psi more.....
Only one way to find out..... It is rated at 1575hp........not like thgat really means much

Ill be pulling the axles tomorrow..... this really has me thinking.... i know i need to learn how to really control the car as it sits now but why take the cover off later..... should i do the gears now..... thats what im thinking to myself...... plus it will be even more stret friendly even with no overdrive.
